hey. i think that the new instant replay feature is a good idea but in bad placement. i think that the idea of it is needed but not just for fouls and whatnot. it needs to be used for safe/out or balls and strikes. also the idea to put it in in the middle of the season is a horrible idea. there definatley have been games where something like this could have changed the outcome. if the MLB were to hold it off until next season that would work much better and not fracture any outcomes. im not sure what the response from the players and coaching staff will be but im most sure it will be negative. anyway thats my opinion. thanks for the air time on the show guys

While I'm not sure of the exact usage of instant replay, I would consider implementing the NFL system whereas a manager get a predetermined amount of IR challenges during a game. And in the 9th inning, a IR can be used if a questionable call happens by the crew chief of the umpires.

Not used on every single call so as to slow down the pace of the game even more, but when calls are bad in baseball, it can really affect the outcome.

I can go on both sides of the fence on this one. On the one hand I like the idea of baseball implementing replay because it could eventually lead to safe and out calls as well as the fair, foul and homerun calls. The big reason I like this is that in the 2005 NLCS an umpire missed a call at 2nd base when Biggio looked to have tagged out Molina. When they showed the replay Biggio had missed the tag, but because the umpire had been blocked by Biggio he couldn't make the correct call. Which cost St. Louis the game, and eventually the series.

On the other hand, I really don't want to see replay come into baseball because having an umpire decide on the spot fair-foul, homerun-not, and maybe eventually safe-out; is what helps make baseball so great!

Its not always easy getting a call correct. I work as a Baberuth umpire.

13-16 baberuth leauge 90-feet9-12 (calripken) little leauge. 70 feet and 60-feet We do what we can. Has for the instant replay. I was doing a 70 feet cal-major. there was a homerun down the Right feild pole which to me seem to go foul, I didnt see it. But went by want Firs base umpire saw.

I think it is a good idea. Some of those home run calls can determine the outcomes of games, and better to have the call accurate even if the call takes longer to make.

Good idea on home runs, but I am mortally against it on safe out calls. The Phillies got burned on one yesterday (Howard was safe at first) yet I still feel strongly that the human element is an important part of the game.
