2k8 for me!I want gameplay,not arcade ball and 80yrd bombs while backpeddling,glitchy AI etc.I stopped playing madden years ago,and when they pulled the sissy move and bought the NFL rights after seeing the great strides 2k was making after only 5 plus years on the market,instead of upping their game they chose to buy out the comp and make a weaker game knowing people who wanted a NFL football game(LoL)had to buy that garbage,Now all of a sudden they want to make a great game??hahaha and with what,Gang-tackles?Rb'Seeing the hole and not bumping into their linemen??One handed catches??Guess what!2k had that 3years ago!So all you madden heads out there, support the fat man,I love it,Because just like 2k5 vs madden 05 Ea is going to be shown how to make a football game and without madden to compare to,2k wouldn't look so Good.But thats me ,and everybody is different..with that said,Gameplay(All-pro football) or flash(hit-stick,hot dogs,etc)Madden.
I don't see how you can bash Madden's gameplay if you admittedly haven't played it in years. I'm not that biggest Madden fan in the world, but at least I give it a chance via rental or something every year.
I have pals who play madden all the time,yes it is true i dont play madden,but over the years i have seen and heard the gripes,it's not as if i hate madden,i just think 2k makes a better football game as far as gameplay,and wanted other peoples thoughts.Simple.
oh here we go again, lets have yet another debate on whether madden or 2k is better. give it a rest, madden is far superior to the 2k series when it comes to franchise mode, which is what's most important.

ill admit that 2k5 was better then madden 2005 but i also think madden as improved big time since then. 07 rocked my football world! And i miss TECMO!! that game is the best lol i member the fun i had with that game!
Too true! I love how these Madden haters sit here and say that you either pick gameplay or Madden... It is BLINDINGLY obvious that these people haven't read previews (from guys that thought Madden was VERY lacking) that are amazed at how great the gameplay is turning out to be and also praise the great animations! If you have seen the Madden work in progress video and weren't impressed, you don't know real football. End of story.
Oh, I do have to give a shout out to my boy that thinks Tecmo Super Bowl on NES is the best football game ever! I hear you dude! When you can play a game were Bo Jackson is in it, you know it's the best game ever!
Personally, I have always prefered Madden's gameplay over 2k's. In my opinion, all that 2k5 had over Madden 05 was presentation.
Madden 06 for 360 was a joke. But I loved the regular xbox version. I bought and absolutely love Madden 07 for 360. And I think Madden 08 is shaping up to be an amazing game! I can't wait!
I'll rent All-Pro 2k8, but unless it is the most amazing football game I have ever played, I won't be buying it. So far, with anything I have seen or heard about it, I am not even the slightest bit impressed.

Madden is more of a simulator and you can't really pass 20 plus yards every throw.

Hahahaha.Madden more sim than 2k?Ok.Do me a favor.If you have both games,go into practice mode,Pick offense only(if madden has that)Pick a qb,lets say mcnabb..And throw the ball as far as you can(WR,TE)ok.Then come back and lets talk.And i mean from throw til catch.ThanksYeah in madden they drop the ball more.. like the the NFL in 2k the guys have crazy glue on there hands it seems, dude i'm not biased like you as i said i liked both games, i like 2k cause it's very fast and arcady and i can break long runs and make long passes but madden i like cause it's more of a simulation. when i play 2k online guys just do 20 to 40 yards plays easy, once you learn the plays and stuff in 2k you can do that kind of stuff easy but madden limits those stuff because it's trying to be a simulation. do me a favor run a slant in 2k run back lets say 15 steps as a QB your WR is open and it's an instant touchdown. thats been in 2k since the first one. just accept it Madden is more of a simulation and 2k is more arcade like with alil bit of sim, even the developers admit this on there latest game. and i for one am glad cause i can buy both games since there both Differant like i said /thread

you are Biased because you do not like Madden Like 2k more and think Madden sucks thats being biased. i on the othger hand like both games and i'm telling you the differances between both. In an unbiased way. you just do not want to accept the fact , even the devs admited this on gameinformer last month. they asked the guys whats good about not having the NFL license and he said , well we can do more things to the gameplay to make the game play faster and more exiting something not possible if we are emulating the NFL. If the own devs say it then you can't deny it. They also had an interview with the the NFL comissioner on 1up and ask thim whats the good thing about the NFL being exclusive to Madden , he says we can give Input from the Officials on the rules of football and make a more acurate represetation of the NFL in the game, something not possible if the license was on for multiple games because it requires to much running around and it becomes very taxing. The tiburon team says they can now make a more Accurate NFL with all there inside Info and try to make a more accurate NFL game, something Madden has always been trying to achieve, and they asked the Comissioner why EA? he says they have the closest thing to the NFL on a game we feel. so your wrong it's not just me it's also the League thats feels that way.

But what they say is validated by the Comments from the 2K8 Developers. The last 2 Maddens have been suppar for a reason , ready? the Graphics Engine. they made a new one and every time EA uses a New engine(usally when the next gen Starts) it takes 1 to 2 years for them to start getting back in there groove. Madden 2001 was good graphically but it lacked depth Wich is the best Madden last gen? Madden 2004 . But no matter what EA has always been striving vloser and closer to the real play of Football. Remember tecmo bowl? run back back make a 80 yard pass easy. Remembe The First madden? you couldn't do that. I love 2k8 series it's more fun Multiplayer. but when i wana play a NFL gamewith a deep franchise mode and more realistic Football alone i play madden.

See you keep saying it's my view , i;m telling you it's on Paper the developers already admited to this(the 2k develoeprs not the Madden developers) and everything you like about 2k8 (minus the commentary cause i completley agree with you on that) is what makes 2k less of a sim, thats what i am telling you. your telling me exacatly what i'm telling you. They want madeen not to be as it is from watching on TV but how it is being in the trenches playing the game foreal(thats why there less commentary , the only Commentary Peyton Manning hears is from the Speakers outside, so he hears Touchdown Colts, he doesn't hear Sean Salisbury saying how he needs to do this or that. Madden is trying to be a Simulation and like i said 2k is trying to be like a More fun fast version of the real football game. notice i'm not saying there anything wrong with that so ther no need to get mad, this is just how the games are made. um ok your just Jaded but you see when i say iwhen i want a more Sim football game i play madden it is Confirmed by EA Sports and 2k Developers that Madden is more of a Sim. thats how i know it's more of a Sim on paper as well as My opinion, yes in my Opinion it's more of a Sim, but also on PAper it is more of a sim. i'm done arguiong withsomeone who just can't accept the fact that Madden is the most slower pacced accurate representation of the game of the NFL.

Like say, playing online against the Colts(who are on a roll) and cuz Peyton Manning is so studius in film rooms and can tell what a defense is doing before he snaps the ball, just like in real life, the other guy can press a button and see exactly what defensive play is? Forcing you to make adjustments via the defenive hot routes, as he makes adjustments to beat you? And if you happen to have a John Lynch or Ray Lewis on defense you can do the opposite and see what the offensive play is? Or how about the ability to manually make a possession or flashy catch? You make a possession catch, you can lose out on getting YAC. You make the spectacular one, you can get the ball knocked out while going YAC. Sounds like gameplay to me, it also sounds original and innovative. It also sounds true to real life football. If you want to play with NFL legends past, get 2K8. Me? I'd rather play with legends of the present.
And also, to squash the "2K had gang tackling first" thing as complete bull****, Madden NFL 2000 had gangtackling. I remember that cuz that's the same game with a tight Ludacris intro.
