The mavs collapsed massively in the second half.

I think this will be a good series, possibly going 7, but I think the Hornets will take it.

As usual, the Mavericks are showing no signs of life in the playoffs. I'm a Mavs fan, and I'm sick to death of seeing the lack of inspiration and heart from this team. They will probably lose the series against the Hornets. Remember guys, Mavericks were like 3-12 against good teams AFTER the Jason Kidd trade. I can't believe 75% of the vote on this forum think the Mavericks will beat the Hornets based on how the Mavs have played in the playoffs in the past...AvIdGaMeR444

Mavs have more people to go to. if Chris Paul has an off night the Hornets really arent very good. Maybe thats why?

I wish Mavs would step up their game and redeem themselves from last year against the warriors. Seeing them play like that pisses me off. I mean come on! its playoffs time!

Dirk's had a triple double before, shows how much you know about him and the mavs, besides he's a big man, you don't normally see Shaq or Tim Duncan get triple doubles all the time, get off Dirk's nads.

Chris Paul has played *brilliantly* in these first two games. He's one of the most exciting players to watch in the league just because of his decision making, not to mention his amazing talents. Such a great PG, and still so young! He is the best player on the floor no question in this series, the Mavs have no answer.

Yah I had onyl seen CP3 play when the Celtics played them and I wasnt to impressed with him in that game. But after watching him play in the playoffs i am very impressed. He shoudl win the MVP over Kobe (I still think KG deserves it but wont get it).

Wow, it is truly embarassing to live in Dallas and be a sports fan. Cowboys = flop. Rangers = huge flop. Mavs are flopping hard. I've never seen an NBA team so freaking scared to drive to the basket. Yes, Josh Howard, please take yet another jump shot. :roll:

Dampier -- played excellent even after the Kidd trade. Not so in the playoffs.

Howard -- has generally been worse after the Kidd trade.

Just about Every NBA team in the playoffs are playing their hearts out, and playing at a high caliber. Not so with the Mavericks. And why is it every time the Mavs make the playoffs, the opposing team plays better against the Mavs then they have all season long against other teams? Golden State with Baron Davis going on a rampage against Dallas. Dwyane Wade having unusually high scoring games against Dallas. Now, Chris Paul (who never ever seems to get tired at all...whereas Dirk can't play a quarter without getting winded) is destroying the Mavs. And the Hornets are making it look easy as pie. Sucks to be a Mavs fan. Try driving to the basket more Mavs...oh I forgot, they're too afraid.

Mark Cuban will not put up with this nonsense. Avery Johnson will get fired if the Mavs can't get it together. Cuban is that volatile.

Dallas lost it when they traded Devin Harris. You have one of the best defensive PGs in the league, able to match up well with all the superstar PGs in the West, and only in his 3rd year...yet you trade that for an over-the-hill PG, at $20 million a year, who ran a completely different system in NJ, Avery is still micromanaging like he did with Devin Harris, and you gave up 2 first round draft picks. Add this to the long list of blunders Avery and Cuban have already done. I can't believe how fast they ran this franchise into the ground.d12malu

They weren't good. After Cuban bought the team in the middle of the season, they finished with the best record after the All-Star break. Cuban got a new arena, treated the players great to where Dallas was where players wanted to go, and it was becoming normal for Dallas to make the playoffs every year.

Then, bad decisions and bad luck started to catch-up on the Mavs. Feud between Nelson and Cuban. Monumental collapse in the playoffs, historic first round failure, slowly changing from a young athletic uptempo team to a slow and old methodical team. Not one draft pick since Avery Johnson has been coach remains on the team. Avery Johnson was a God when he first took over the team, because it was still the team Don Nelson built but just enough of Avery's emphasis on D. And that got Dallas to the Finals. But slowly and surely he has shown his flaws. Instead of a bright future and a young nucleus for years to come, it has been replaced by huge question marks about the future.
