I know everyone argues it's either Deron Williams or Chris Paul. For me, I'm biased so I always go with Steve Nash until he retires. And than there's Tony Parker and the up and coming Derrick Rose.

But out of all these guys, Rajon Rondo always seems to be overlooked. Still, out of all the PGs, he's playing the best right now. Steve Nash is also playing well, but Rondo is going crazy right now! I mean he got 18 rebounds at 6'1!

What do you guys think? Do you think it's fair to say that Rondo could be the best PG in the league? And I'm not talking about right now, but maybe for years to come?

Not yet, but he's up there. I think he's better than Nash but I'd still take Deron Williams, Chris Paul, and probably Chauncey Billups over him.

For me is Deron Williams. Rondo is good, it's just too bad his personality makes him a cocky....................*we are experiencing technical difficulties*

Also Derrick Rose is one of the best imo too.

I'll take Deron, and Chris Paul first, but Rondo is very much like Jason Kidd when he came in, without a shot. Rondo FT percentage is atrocious to be up there in best PG in the game right now. He just needs to work on his shooting and he can maybe leap frog Deron and Chris Paul.

Once he is very reliable outside shooter then he could be the best. But he does everything pretty well besides that. Kind of reminds me of J-Kidd from back in the day.

Well at least he knows when to raise his game up a notch. Like he did last year in the playoffs and this year against the Cleveland LeBrons.

Even without the shooter part, he is an amazing player. I suggest you watch more of his games before you just suggest that he is a "good" player. He has improved greatly on his shooting this year. Seeing how much he has improved I would not be surprised if he become a very good shooter next year.

I really like his game, but his ability to shoot is going to hurt during the PO. The good thing is he can always learn to shoot later, is much harder to teach passing, and impossible to teach athletic abilities :P This is likely the last run with the Big 3, so after this I think they may go rebuild around him so that would give him all the space to grow.

If he can learn to shoot than I say he may very well be the best, or top 5 area.

He had an amazing game last night, but he still haves a lot to improve on like his jumpshot and on-ball defense. He gambles too much.

Yeah, until he can do it consistently outside of the playoffs, I'm sticking with D-Will, Nash, and CP3. He is up there though.

What's amazing to me is that this guy is getting triple doubles. Magic Johnson said on ESPN that it was very difficult for him to get triple doubles even for being 6'9 and Rondo's doing it at 6'1! What's he doing differently that enables him to do this? I think he just has a good sense of what's happening on the court and anticipates it quicker where he's at the right place at the right time. By the way, that one play when he did a behind-the-back pass to Tony Allen when LeBron was chasing behind him on a fast break was classic! LeBron stuffed him earlier in the season and knocked him over, so Rondo faked LeBron out this time! I still think Steve Nash, Deron Williams, and Chris Paul are considered the better PGs, but as of right now, I think Rondo is the best in the playoffs. Well, he's tied with Nash because both of them have been very valuable to their team during these playoffs.

if rondo had a jump shot his game would be borrrringggggg :P

what makes rondo exciting to watch is that he does everything else extremely well, like rebounding, steals, and getting to the basket.

he'll still give you 12 points a game, so him needing that jump shot can wait until its crucial, like when the big 3 isnt there anymore

no hell no infact. not saying he's not good he is pretty good but i remember last year when people were comparing rondo and rose in the bulls celtics series and i said only until they develop their shot will they jump from good to great. Rose did that this year and is a solid 20+ points every game and is only getting better. Rondo on the other has always gives you decent effort on the offensive end in terms of point but has still yet to be able to knock down that jumper. The best point guards in the league like deron williams and chris paul can knock down shots. Rondo's 29 is more or less a fluke. i think if he really worked on that shot all summer long there is no doubt he could be one of the best point guards in the game but not now

Lebron's face was priceless when Rondo threw that nasty dime!!!

Not the best but he is my top 5. He has really turned it on the playoffs, he is the best player for the Celtics right now.

he has a lot of talent around him. I don't care how old the big 3 are, they are still a top tier team. The question is if you put rondo on the hornets or jazz can he do what paul and williams does? I don't think so. Hell i don't think he could do what derrick rose does for Chicago. He's the leading scorer on that team, and they need him to be. I'm not sure Rondon could give you 25 night in night out. Maybe in a couple years when his shot improves, but not yet. He is a perfect fit for the Celtics

It's Nash. He made a joke of the Spurs. Deron Williams plays like flake. He flops constantly (as does the entire Jazz team). Second would be Rondo.

He's top 5 pg and easily the best pg in the east currently. Cp3 however imo is the best pg currently (I'm talking healthy paul) then deron williams then rondo. 4 and 5 belong to Steve Nash and Chauncey Billups

Two years ago all the talk was how phenominal Chris Paul was and how he was the best PG in the league. Then it was Deron Williams, and now all the speculation on how good Rondo is. I would still take a healthy Chris Paul over all of them if I am trying to give my team the best chance to win.

It's that fact that there are point guards in the league who can shoot better than Rondo is what stopping him from being the best point guard in the league. He's a great point guard in terms of defense and pure athletic ability, and he happens to fit very well with the Celtics system. Heck, when you have guys like Ray Allen and Paul Pierce, you can get away with having a crummy shot. Once he starts having a better free throw percentage, then he's going to be elite.

I can't stand Rondo but I finally have to admit that he's right up there with the best of the PG's. I'm amazed at the rate of his improvement. I think CP3 is going to be king in the PG genre for years to come though.

As al Laker fan I loath to say anthing positive for a Celtic, but I would put him as the 3rd best pg in the league. Deron Williams is the best followed by CP3, Rondo, Nash, Billups, Rose, Westbrook.
