Now i've never played MLB: The Show series before and it came up for download on the PS3. So I downloaded it and I must say MLB: The Show 08 looks (graphically) like the best baseball game...no, the best SPORTS game graphics I have ever seen! The players look amazingly life like (for the most part) and it has such fluid motion. MLB 2k games are really nothing compared to The Show. Not to mention all the features that there are in The Show.

I am offically now sold on getting The Show over this years 2k game.

Yeah, it's a good game to play until MVP returns, which will take a long while.

I agree that The Show is the superior game, but I don't have a PS3. Is it so much better than 2K that I should get it for the PS2, or should I stick with Next-gen and get 2K8 for 360? Any opinions?

Chances are the PS2 version will suck like all other sports games coming in nowadays, so even if 2k is the worse game, chances are the 360 2k8 will be better than ps2 show.

I'm not even a big baseball fan, but I really like that game. Solid controls and the best commentary in sports video games.

mvp went downhill after they lost their mlb franchise. i'm talking about the gameplay not the fact they lost the rights to make mlb games. it's just their games aren't as good as they use to be, so i doubt ea can make a game as good as mlb nowadays.

I was blown away by the PS2 07 version of The Show. Can't even imagine what it'll be like on a next gen platform.

Who does the commentary for each game?

Rex Hudler, Dave Campbell, and Matt Vadsgersian.

Commentary is good, but the same for the past two games, and they did'nt edit any of it. In the games, the guys still think Troy.Glaus still plays for the D-Backs.

I meant for both 2K and the Show. So I'm assuming Hudler, Campbell and Vasgerstian do the Show? If so, that makes my decision for me. I can't stand Hudler or Vasgerstian.

The demo rocks.. It's amazing. I love how the crowds look and sound and how they grab foul balls and stuff like that. Peanut vendors walking around. I've never seen that in a game before, it really sucks you in.

I just found out that Joe Morgan and John Miller do the commentary for 2K8. I love those guys, and hate 2 of the 3 for The Show, so now my decision is easy. When I buy a baseball game I play hundreds of games, so the commentary is a huge factor.

Well do you have a PS3/PS2? Because if you don't than you really can't get MLB 08: The Show any way :P

I really like the gameplay in The Show over 2k's it just feels so much more real.

Yeah, I have a PS2. I was debating b/n The Show for PS2 or 2K8 for 360. I didn't really want to go back to last gen, but I like The Show slightly better, which is why I was considering it. Now the announcers made my decision for me.

You can always turn off the commentary. Isn't there an option of "in the field" or "in the stands" sounds when playing a game? That's what I did in madden after I got tired of madden's voice.

No way, commentary is very important to me. I couldn't play a sports game without it. I just won't play one with announcers that I consider annoying.

Totally agree. With baseball you need solid commentary and I love Joe Morgan and John Miller. They rock! I can't wait for 2K8!

You are really making your decision based on commentary alone? You need to go with gameplay first in my book.

I thought the commentary in 'The Show' was good. I guess it's all personal taste.

Got my copy of the show! The game rocks... I think the commentary is great. There is so much dialogue about specific teams and cities and it's not repeditive at all.

Good to hear. I just picked up my copy about an hour ago. I am at work but will play it when I get home. I have played the last gen version of the Show so I am excited to see what's in store in this gen's version.

You should take a look at the IGN review for 2K8 before you buy it. It got a 6.5 for graphics. They said it's got major Frame Rate Issues. Looks like they really dropped the ball
