Ichiro becomes the first player in MLB history with at least 200 hits in 10 consecutive seasons.

One of the most underated players in the game today IMO.

Underrated may not be the right word. It just seems like nobody ever talks about Ichiro.

It sucks that all this great hitting is going to waste on the Mariners who haven't done much of anything his entire career. I think there was one year where they were really good, and the next year they went back to average or worse. I am surprised the Yankees haven't lured him away from Seattle or traded for him already. Those are pretty much guaranteed hits were talking about. And he is pretty good with the glove as well. HOF without a doubt.

Also, consider his time playing in Japan. He was a rookie in 1992 and didn't come to Seattle until 2001.

Forget about consecutive. Only one other player, Pete Rose, recorded 10 200+ hit seasons total in his career. Ichiro has yet to play a season in which he didn't hit 200.

Also, 200 hits and only 70 runs. That's how bad the Mariners offense is.

It's true. I wish he would leave and go somewhere he can win, I don't know why he has stuck with us all these years.

Yeah, if he would have been able to come to the Majors right off the bat or at least a just a few years after, he would most likely end up passing Pete Rose for most hits all-time easy! The guy is an animal!

One of the greatest ever. He really deserves a ring... He's still a first ballot HOFer though. That man has all my respect. He also made the greatest throw I've ever seen in 01'.

Another victim of ESPN driven casual sports fans who only care about highlights... Ichiro is a top 5 player for his generation, but because he does not hit homeruns, some people don't even know who he freaking is... the best slap hitter and base runner in a decade and a superb, prennial Gold Glove defender...

It doesn't seem exciting for some reason. 200 hits is impressive though.

I don't really follow baseball much, but do have incredible respect for Ichiro. His throws are freaking lasers, its a sight to see.

He needs to be traded to a bigger market.
