EDIT:

Didn't want to make another thread about "LeBron going to Chicago" so here's my second topic about this.

If LeBron does end up in Chicago, which is one of the big rumors, what would it mean to MJ's legacy? What if LeBron goes on a huge run and he and the Bulls win over 6 rings, more than MJ? If it did happen, that means MJ won't be the best in Chicago nor the league and LeBron could end up being the greatest b-ball player of all-time.

Don't take what I'm saying to wrong way, I'm just speculating of course

But it's interesting to think about the possibilities.

How do I feel about this? Well, since I'm biased and a MJ fan, I hope nobody surpasses him. BUT if God created LeBron to be greater and he is destined for that, than what can we do? Nothing. Which means, LeBron will be the greatest of all-time.

He certainly has the most potential for it, unless John Wall comes in and become the 3rd generation MJ (Kobe being the 2nd generation MJ, according to Jerry West).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some guy on ESPN, I forget his name, is saying that this could happen: LeBron going to Chicago with the possibility of Phil Jackson coaching. And the likelihood of getting rid of some Bulls' players and get someone like Joe Johnson.

I HIGHLY doubt this would happen, but what if it did?

Your thoughts.

I think LeBron has a good chance of ending up in Chicago, Phil, I don't think is leaving LA. He already said a few weeks ago that if he coaches next year the only place he wants to be is Los Angeles. And he also said he wasn't interested in the Chicago job. I think Chicago has a better shot of landing LeBron than NY or Cleveland.... But I don't think Phil ends up there, too. If the Lakers win a second straight title Phil is definitely coming back to LA.

It could happen if the lakers don't win a championship. Jerry Buss doesn't want to pay Phil Jackson $10 million+ unless they win a championship.

Jerry Buss (owner of the Lakers) doesn't want to pay Phil $10 million+ per year and is annoyed/jealous that Phil's the reason the Lakers won a championship. So unless the Lakers win a championship, he'll ask Phil to take a pay cut or he's gone.

I would rather D-Wade go to Chicago. He seems like a better fit to me.

Phil Jackson already said he wants to stay in LA. Lebron could go though. I really only see 2 teams he could goto...the Heat or Bulls. Heat really depends on what Wade does though. I think Lebron would be better on the Bulls.

Ya know though theres so much talk of Lebron being a free agent and going to a new team.....he could end up just staying in Cleveland ya know. He doesn't have to change if he doesnt want too. We might be making too big a deal out of this.

What else would Phil Jackson say at this moment in time while he's coaching the lakers in the playoffs? Yea, he could be telling the truth, but then again, he could just be telling you what he's suppose to say as opposed to saying "Sure, I'd love to go back to Chicago"---could you imagine the media frenzy?

Phil's wife is part owner or some really high position for the Lakers so I don't see much reason for him to leave... Don't see him getting more money in Chicago either tho... LeBron.. who knows at this point. I think Joe Johnson will get a max contract with another bad team unless Atlanta burned him out on losing.

If Lebron goes to Chicago, D-Wade comes to Cleveland. If Lebron doesn't go, D-Wade comes to Cleveland. Either way, I hope Wade comes to Cleveland.

I know next-to-nothing about Cleveland's cap space...do they have room for both LeBron and D-Wade?

Even if they do, I never see that scenario happening to be honest. :P

It's Chris Broussard from ESPN who has been talking about Chicago. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=5187750&categoryid=2459788 I think one of the few scenarios where LeBron and Wade would end up on the same team is if they both go to the Knicks. Only because they have the most money available. But the Knicks are a gamble for LeBron if no one else joins him there. The squad as it is now is not very good. That would be an even worse situation from LeBron than Cleveland. But Chicago has D Rose, Noah, Gibson. I don't see Phil leaving L.A. And if he did, Chicago wouldn't pay him the $12 million that he would warrant. Even before Chris mentioned it in that video I posted above, I had thought that Byron Scott would be someone for the Bulls to go after.

Here's Bill Simmons' blog at ESPN. (I couldn't linkify it for some reason) http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/100514&sportCat=nba He makes a pretty good parallel between LeBron and Dr. J. Actually the stories of their careers up to this point are eerily similar. It's worth reading just for that. But he goes on to state the smartest basketball move for LeBron if he wants to win titles early and often is to go to Chicago. Here's how he broke it down. Winning (Chicago), Loyalty (Cleveland) OR Immortality (New York Knicks). Chicago gives him the best chance to win soon, staying in Cleveland will show his loyalty and for him to win in New York considering their current situation, plus the biggest star in the biggest city... it would be an incredible accomplishment in team sports today. It's an intersting read.

I thought they were just bf/gf and not husband/wife? We're talking about Buss' daughter Genie (I think), right? I don't understand why an owner wouldn't throw money at a proven head coach like Phil Jackson. I betcha the new Russian owner would do it in a heart beat if it means getting Jackson.

If LeBron goes to CHI to me it will end up being sort of like the Lakers franchise. The Bulls will start to develop a long list of stars. It is like the debate on who is the face of the Lakers franchise, the question can't be answered with the likes of Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O'Neal, Magic Johnson, James Worthy, plenty more and some guy named Kobe who is pretty decent. The Bulls will become a team that will start to develop like that with the LeBron addition, main reason starts are afraid to join them, in my opinion, is the daunting task in following up MJ, but LeBron can show he is better than Jordan if he does what Jordan did with the Bulls and ones up them.

Ok I read your edit. First if not in Cleveland I would really like to see Lebron play with Derrick Rose and Noah. So if he does leave I hope he goes with the Bulls.

However, and I know you said its just speculating, but I highly doubt Lebron would go on to win more than 6 championships with the Bulls. Even if, by some historical chance, they did win more than 6I don't think it would hurt Michael Jordan's legacy at all.

MJ is considered the best, not just because he won 6 times, but because of everything he did. His 6 championships came in two Three-peats, He won awards for basicly being the best at everything (rookie, dunk, defense, MVP ect.), he made a bunch of buzzerbeaters and made his team pretty much invincible. His 96 team even has the best season record of all time.....72-10. Thats just amazing. They only lost ten times the entire year.

On a side note, even though Im a fan of Lebron, I think Kobe is next best player to MJ.

MJs legacy would still be intact no matter what player goes to Chicago. When that player starts winning more than how many rings Jordan one, then we can have this discussion about anyone's impact to MJs legacy.

I can see Lebron going to Chicago, but I don't think it will do much to MJ's legacy. MJ is considered the best not because of the championships he won, but his style of playing.

Also, I can't see Phil Jackson going to Chicago unless Jerry Buss specially tells him to leave.

LeBron going to CHI is a bad idea in his part he'll basically have 5 years to bring a championship or he'll be ragged the rest of his career. Besides to much pressure with the MJ compression.

He should go to either Nets, or Knicks if he want to be in thespot light, people sucking up to him, making big cash and a great team he can work with. Either that or team up with Bosh, Amare, Dirk (if he opts out). Wade would never happen cause I doubt there the best of friends and both would wanna be the go too guy.

LeBron wants to win a title. Does he have a better chance to do that going to the Knicks as they are constituted now or the Bulls? Not considering the possibility of the Knicks also picking up a Wade or Bosh. Because if LeBron goes to the Knicks, I see another Cleveland situation made worse because of the even weaker roster they have. And I think MJ's legacy is quite safe from LeBron whether he wins a title in Chicago or any other city. I think it has been generally agreed on that LeBron doesn't have the cold killer instinct that Jordan had. He's not clutch like Jordan. Do you think Jordan would have let his whole team give up in the last two minutes of an elimination game? If it came down to one shot, would you rather have LeBron or Jordan taking the shot?

Yeah, D-Wade going to Cleveland has as much chance of happening as D-Wade coming to Utah... I believe the chances on that are somewhere around -75%... If LeBron goes to Chicago though, I think he has a chance to do well. Don't think he will do quite as well as Jordan championship-wise (Jordan had the superior team), but I think he would do fine stats-wise.
