Such as, "Is your mother a prostitute?" "Does she still do drugs?":|:|:|:|:|

"Do you play in a G-string or a jock strap?"

"Does being a white running back make you feel entitled?"

"What did it feel like to desert your team?"- Asked of Myron Rolle on leaving Florida State to accept a Rhodes scholarship, THE NERVE!

They questions range from offensive to just plain dumb. And remember, these are from NFL executives in control of millions of dollars. As someone who has been an employer, if I had asked questions like this in an interview, I'm quite sure I wouldn't have a job.

Yes, but you never have been an employer in the NFL. A lot of the questions are psychological based. Maybe we don't get it, but there's a reason why many of us are here and not NFL affiliated. [QUOTE="QuistisTrepe_"]

"Is your mother a prostitute?" "Does she still do drugs?"

QuistisTrepe_

There's nothing at all wrong with that one, it's getting blown out of proportion

His mother has a long history with drugs and ended up in jail because of it. Now research has shown that a good percentage of women who go down that route also have accepted money for "relations"

The NFL is a billion dollar company and each team is held to the highest level of scrutiny. Is his mother going to be trouble for the team? Does he take after the mother in any way? Those are questions that need to be address

It's crazy that he's getting in trouble for looking out for the welfare of his own company, The man looked at the situation and looked over the facts of the situation and then asked questions that pertained to the facts.

It's not like he just saw someone who's mother had no past at all and asked that

When was the last time someone's mother was trouble for the team?

McNabb's mother was a PR disaster for the Eagles when she was speaking out and that was just "stop speaking ill of my boy"

That's a Mom being a Mom and is added fuel to the fire when the Eagles were doing the whole "Garcia better then McNabb" drama. That ran for a good 6 months and put the Eagles in a very awkward predicament.

Now imagine the kind of storm the non wholesome one gets.

I don't blame an NFL team for researching it's players that much since if something goes wrong they're the ones that are going to be losing their jobs. The player will always find a new place to play if he's got the talent.

How you were raised or not raised by your immiedate parent(s) can affect how you are as a person. A lot of players grow up without dads and turn out to be trouble---i.e. T.O. [QUOTE="JML897"]

The prostitution question was very unprofessional. I mean if NFL players are held to a higher standard shouldn't Coaches, GMs, and Owners be held to the same or maybe an even higher standard? As for the other questions, although they were stupid ?'s, it seemed that the teams just wanted to see the players reactions.

That would have been very stupid on Dez Bryant's part. The guy would have lost potential millions and his reputation would have been destroyed. He already was under scrutiny for his maturity and attitudeat OSU. I commend Bryant for not blowing up on this idiot when others probably would have. Ireland should not have asked the question, period. It had nothing to do with football and crossed the line severely. People justifying it are idiots. Im sure GMs can ask players certain questions that dont disrespect them and can still gauge their "psychological" test.

That's the justification? Great, I'll be sure to ask invasive, inappropriate questions like that the next time I get into management just so I can see someone's reaction.

The actual context of the conversation, if this report is accurate, puts the prostitute incident in a different light. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/jim_trotter/04/30/dez.bryant.jeff.ireland/index.html?eref=sihp

I never said there was a good reason to ask those questions, but I don't see any other reason why someone would ask "Do you play in a G-string or a jock strap?" unless they're really interested, which I doubt.
