He's having a great season so far in his FIRST college season. I thought the Tech game really showed how good he can play even against one of the best defenses in the country.

So if he decides to go pro after this season, do you think he'll be a big time player in the NBA?

Thats what im saying. He should be the first pick in the draft imo. Wouldnt mind seeing him stay another year though....fat chance at that.

Myabe. I haven't seen him play a lot. I've seen plenty of Oden though and I think he can potentially develop into a superstar depending on what team drafts him.

I'll have to agree with you on that one, but Oden has dealt with a lot of injuries that has kept him from being the dominating force that I think he can be.

I've only seen him play twice this season, against Villanova  a couple of weeks ago and last night against Tech. While he wasn't that impressive against the Wildcats, he certainly was against the Red Raiders.

durant has the potential to be like a mcgrady, which is saying a lot. But in no way should the number 1 pick be anyone besides oden, you only get 7 footers like this once every 5-10 years. Other than that, good draft class this year and next

Exactly. Durant can be a great PERIMETER player like a McGrady or someone of that sort, but Oden can be the next shaq. The bottom line is that if you have to take one person you start with a big man. I hate him, but Kobe is a better player than shaq (i'm talking lakers days not now cause shaq is done), but if you need a foundation for a young team you HAVE TO TAKE THE BIG MAN. Kobe might have been better but Shaq was more important, and if Oden is as good as the hype you can't pass him up.

must requirement to start a franchise with a big men is overrated. big men are not what they used to be back in the days due to new rules and they are much easier to shut down than priemeter super stars like wade and kobe bryant. Just double team him. Whether it's shaq or howard or garnett, they are bound to make mistakes and miss shots when double teamed. Today, it's all about versatile big men NOT A PURE BIG MEN. Big men like nowitizki, garnett, and duncan have been more coveted than just pure big men. By the way, howard is not a PURE BIG MEN. he is good from 15-20 feet. durant is also a once in 10 years talent. his upside is higher than oden, but peopel all jump on greg oden's wagon although he's very RAW in his offensive skills. he only has few moves down low and he's uncomfortable when facing the basket while durant is able to score anywhere on the floor. you also can't teach atheletchism and durant's ateletchism is off the charts. And unlike oden his ball-handeling skills is amazing. Oden has a very small shooting range and can't play well when faced with more aggressive player than him. But oden has great defensive presence, but his use of luring guards to go for dunks and lay-ups won't work in NBA. But he has the size and atheletcism. Either one will be a great pick

Let's see.. athleticism, size, bball IQ, inside/outside scoring, rebounding, passing, solid fundamentals, improving defense, conditioning, work ethic, character. As a freshman he's noticeably better than almost everyone else in the NCAA. If Durant peaks as a McGrady level player in the NBA, I'll be disappointed.

Seriously, the sky is the limit with this kid. He's such a natural, a freak athlete who can do anything and play anywhere on the court. You can't say no to Oden at #1, and both him and Durant still have a ways to go towards fulfilling their potential. Still we could be looking back at a repeat of the Olajuwon over Jordan scenario 10 years down the line. It's too close to call who will be better, but KD is most definitely the real deal.
