...I am a believer again and will get this game. A lot of you are calling the demo trash and I can understand why. It's one drive and you have to score a TD and demo over. I was just as pissed as you all are. Hey, I'm a Patriot fan so you had to understand that it didn't sit well with me to play against them. But I took a step back and played the demo again. One good thing is that we all didn't have to sit through a long loading screen.

The defense (at least I'm hoping it isn't just the Pats defense) is smart as hell. Unlike NCAA where some defenders just run around and not react to a pass in their area, the defense reacts realistically to passes and makes some bone crushing hits! If you are not careful, you will pay for your pass attempts with turnovers. A lot of you are complaining about dropped passes. Well I haven't experienced too many. I threw one pass to Shockey and he went up and caught it exactly like how David Tyree caught his momentum changing catch in the Superbowl. Uh, I hope it isn't just a Giant animation. Speaking of animations, there are so many. I was very impressed. The running game is great, at least from what I experienced. Jacobs is a big bruising back and he practically broke tackles and made plays. Even Eli Manning broke a Richard Seymour tackle once when he was back to pass. Some may think that would never happen. Maybe so, but I liked the fact that it can happen in the game for even the not so agile QBs. Too many Madden games made the pocket QB feel like little girls. I'm certain if that scenario presented itself again, I would not break that tackle again. Visually it's one of the best looking football games.

My main concern was the gameplay and even with a crappy demo (in terms of length), the defensive play is what got me sold.

Post your thoughts and IDs here if you plan on getting Madden 09. I'd like to possibly form an online league or join one.

Of course you did!

But add your PSN ID if you want to game up for some random play or online league play

The IQ can definitely become a standard feature for all EA sports games in the future. I like that it tailors to your game strengths and weaknesses. The demo is far too short and if the Pats played D back in Feb. like they did on that demo, they'd be sporting ring #4 right now.

i don't know if the IQ does anything but my passing offense is on all-madden and my recievers drop 40% of the balls thrown at them but overall i thought it was pretty good because they attempted to make their game better

Well maybe it's a good thing? I had a couple of receivers drop passes because the football clearly wasn't near their hands. But there were times when the ball would, sad to say this, warp into the receiver's hands. Ultimately, this won't hinder the overall game, I hope.

Even though I plan on getting Madden, I still think All Pro 2K8 nailed it in terms of gameplay.

some of the balls i could understand dropping but they would drop random wide open passes =\

Maybe they were making it more realistic, everyone drops wide open passes some times, or atleast i do at football practice.

Yea, I'd like to think that's what they were trying to do. But I won't know until the actual game. Let's hope it's not as frequent as the fumbles that plagued last years game.

yeah i know everyone does and they are making it realistic but it would be nice if they wouldn't drop as many when they are wide open

I had an all-madden passing offense IQ too. I noticed that the receivers drop balls in close range when they're bullet passes. If you do a light or moderate lob to them though, they usually catch it. Its just a matter of timing.

i was lobbing a little bit more when it was clsoe quarters and i noticed they did catch more often than usual but they still dropped some

Well it is easier to catch a lob than a bullet pass. I mean I have solid hands as a TE, but it's common sense
