Jim brown played against a bunch of non-athletic, slow and small white guys. Much rather have Payton, who ran for 1800 yards in the most defensively brutal era in football.
both were outstanding for their day but so were barry sanders and emmit smith in theirs ( yea i get alot of people hate emmit simply for being a cowboy but screw them, the man is the all time leading rusher for a reason - diehard lifelong redskins fan saying this-)

Earl Cambell was a beast. he was like Bo Jackson except he didn't have the speed or agility like Bo but he had the power to run over anyone and when I say anyone I mean ANYONE
If it was "Best RB" then it would be Barry Sanders, O.J Simoson or Emmith Smith IMO. But if its Walter Payton or Jim Brown i'd have to say Walter Payton, but barely. They both got 9 Pro Bowl selections. Walter Payton R.I.P
