What's crazy about Lebron, is that this is closer to the norm that an abnormality. He's up to 27 points on 56.5% shooting on the season. That is ridiculous. With that said, Kobe's stretch was unbelievable. Absolutely insane the way he was scoring, so as much as I love LBJ's game I'll give the edge to Kobe's run.

Yeah, 65, 50, 60, 50, and 43 in five straight games is pretty nutty. Not to mention he averaged 43 ppg in January of 06. I feel like people forget how ridiculous Kobe was in his prime.

Michael Jordan 6 Game stretch in 1989 with a triple double

So yeah, in 1989 Michael Jordan had a triple-double in 7 straight games and in 10 of 11 games. The Bulls went 5-2 in that stretch.

Kobe averaged 33 shot attempts per game... I hate raw numbers, they are ugly. TS% (sadly, NBA.com/stats doesn't allow you the advanced stats over a set amount of time... so have to do it on my own) should be done instead of FG%. Pure FG% doesn't take into account 3 point shots are worth more than 2 point shots (shooting 40% from behind the arc = 60% from within the arc. Going 4/10 from behind the arc gives you 12 points, same as going 6/10 on easier shots. Kobe shot way more 3's than LeBron in this stretch, while LeBron mostly just drove through the lane (not that anything is wrong with that, but taking shots worth more should be reflected) TS% Kobe 291 points/ (2*234.2)= .621% LeBron 194/(2*122.88) = .789% (that.... is absolutely insane) I'll get to the rest later... but Kobe really got to the line during that 6 game stretch.

Kobe had a nice strecth of games here too.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/514596-remembering-the-2002-2003-season-kobes-streak-of-nine-straight-40-point-games.

The Lakers were 7 and 2 during that run.

Kobe's is more impressive, you just expect this stuff from Lebron so it's not so surprising.

They'd be the same for your team's score, but wouldn't going 4/10 from behind the arc be worse for overall scoring differential?  You'd be giving the opponents two additional opportunities to score.

Good point. I don't know the answer to that, but I would say 'maybe.' Yeah, they (the other team) would have 2 additional chances of getting in their transition offense, but there are teams that manage to run a fast break off made field goals (I know I've seen at least 5 teams- Heat, Rockets, Spurs, Nuggets, and Thunder do it this year) as well. I think over the long haul, the 3 point shot (especially the corner 3) makes up for the possibility of allowing more points in transition, when you consider defenses get tougher the closer to the rim.

Assuming they got the rebounds, but yeah.
