Honestly, the west playoff race is way too close to tell. If I had to chose one to come out as the number 1 seed this year, it would be the Lakers. I don't care for Dallas since they traded Harris and as for Phoenix they need to get it together soon or they could be in trouble. The only other serious threat I guess could be the Hornets, but they are the one team I haven't watched yet this season. So I wouldn't doubt LA as being the best in the west. I'm really hoping for them to make it to the Finals, so they can face Detroit (screw Boston ha-ha).
Okay, I forgot about the defending NBA champions, but can you really ever count out SA? I would still say LA is on top but SA isn't far behind.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks the Lakers are overrated.Witchking111111How are they overrated?
I guess I'm the only one who thinks the Lakers are overrated.Witchking111111I don't know why you would think that. I mean before Pao they were in good position. Then they win like 13 out of 15 and are in great position. With Bynum and Ariza coming back. The bench would be very solid with Ariza back.
[QUOTE="Witchking111111"]I guess I'm the only one who thinks the Lakers are overrated.II-FBIsniper-IIHow are they overrated?
I don't think they're overrated, but I also don't think they're a cut above the other 6 or so great teams in the West. All the attention they've been getting lately doesn't seem right when the Spurs and Jazz are right there with them IMO, not to mention the Hornets, Mavs, Rockets and Suns as well. The Lakers could hold on to the top seed and still wind up having to play a tough opponent like the Suns or Warriors, the West is just too deep this year to call it before the games are played.
With Kobe, Lakers always stand a chance. But I kinda find it funny that everyone thinks once the Lakers get Bynum back, they will be unstoppable. Dude plays 3 months of solid ball for the first time in his life and you Laker lovers think he's the 2nd coming of Wilt. HAHAHA I laugh at you!d12malu
i dont know if they will win the whole thing but i think they will get to the conference finals, its going to be tough to do that because the west is so goodKFrandsen2
The west conference is ridiculous! I am getting the feeling that Houston might be able to go all the way since they won like what.. 18 straight times? but who knows.. something crazy might happen.

ya there winning streak is crazy and they are in the west which makes the streak even more impressive
Rockets in a few days against the Lakers. Litmus test.
3 games against the Nets, Hawks and Bobcats before that. Hopefully they don't get caught looking ahead to the Lakers.

The Rockets have a very, very tough schedule next week. They face the Lakers and Celtics then they go on the road to play New Orleans, Golden State, and Phoenix. I expect 2 losses, if they do better it will be very, very impressive.

yea we got a helluva schedule coming up, but I think we can handle it. T Mac hasnt really had to do that much, everybody else is steppin up but I think if we start to slip T-Mac can pick us up. Only games I think will be a trouble are Lakers, Celtics, and Phoenix

Since aquiring Pau Gasol, the Lakers have only lost 3 games and those 3 games they lost is because of a poor & inconsistent defensive performance. The Lakers already have more than enough offensive weapons for a championship run, when Andrew Bynum & Trevor Ariza returns it will greatly boost the Lakers defense specially on the interior. Now laugh at that!

Dont count out the Warriors which is a run & gun and a very unorthodox team, a team like that is very good at beating superior teams and doing upsets. Oh and the Hornets too, they beat Hornets in Houston and the Hornets being considered as one of the elite teams will definitely wont give the Rockets an easy game for their second meeting.

You cant count anybody out in the west unless they get injuries. All the west teams have really tough schedules in the next week, so it should be exciting to watch who wants it more.
Lakers - Tor, NO, Hou, Dal, Utah, Sea, GS, GS
Houston - Atl, Cha, LAL, Bos, NO, GS, Pho
Utah - Has it easy until the last week of the season.
San Antonio - Has it easy till the last week also
NO - has it back and forth
Pho - Last week is hard
Dal - so so hard schedule
GS - has it tough from now till the end but they are running on high gear right now.

When is he expected back because they still need to click before going into the playoffs. Especially playing next to Gasol. Lakers are playing faster with gasol compared to with Bynum. They need him now or the lakers will be experimenting in the playoffs which is not good.
