You aren't going to win without good teammates. This is hardly the first time a player has restructured their contract to allow a team to make a move to keep / pick up other players. Larry's family are stand up folk.

Actually if you look at it that way Boldin has been playing for less then hes worth for a while now allowing the Cards the funds to be able to go out and get pieces to improve the team.

The Cards are a team with two number one receivers, a claim not many teams can make. There's no question Boldin deserved the extra money, it's just a matter of if he was going to get it with the Cards or another team. Fitzgerald realizes what a good player Boldin is and what a compliment they are to each other. I wish more players would act this way in salary negotiations.

This makes Larry look like the most generous player in the league. Things like this aren't forgotten when judgment day comes... aka hall of fame voting. Obviously doing this alone isn't what would get Larry in the HOF but for a player as fantastic as he is, this makes a nice cherry on top to show just how much of a team player he is. On the contrary this makes Boldin look horribly greedy.
