Many have said Shaq is not a good fit for Lebron and the Cavs. Also, although they had a a very good season last year, it did'nt result in a Title. Lebron is extremely talented and versatile but the team still has to find the proper roll players to surround him and provide the most team success (Title).

Without considering salary cap issues or if a deal could actually be done, just want to know what 2 players do you think have the skill set and chemistry to best fit with Lebron, a guy who can do it all (almost) but in doing so makes the team one-dimensional? What 2 current Cav's do you get rid of to make room for your choices?

How would you instruct Lebron to change his game (if so) to better fit with the players you choose?

How would you change the Cavs offense on this team?

I dont know what players Id get rid of/add in, I think they already have a good team and messing with it even more could have bad results.

I know alot of people complain about Shaq but you have to admit, though he may not be what he was as a Laker, he can still score. He struggles with his free-throws but last season on the Suns he really seemed to improve on it.

Guess the only thing Id change from what Ive seen so far this season is to play Shaq more. He was averaging 15-20 last season but so far coach Mike Brown isnt playing him as much as I thought he would. He had 20 points in one thier recent games and had alot of blocks against the Bulls so I dont know why he isnt getting much time.

I know theyre still learning what works and what doesnt but still, youd think the more Lebron and Shaq are together the better they are.

my man mont13. been a few months. But to help you out w/ your question the Cavs will NOT do anything in the playoffs this year. And before i get "but it's early, you have to give them time to gel", let me tell you why. They NEVER addressed their issue from last year. They can't defend an athletic 4 that can go outside and shoot. And if you can't defend that, you BETTER be able to score on the other end to cancel each other out. Well that aint happening cause Varajeo is their 4, and he does neither. They picked up Moon but he won't be the answer. The 2 players i can think of that would put the Cavs over the top and are free agents are Stoudamire and Bosh. Both are athletic enough to guard a 4 on the inside and outside, and either can consistantly give you 20+ per game. You gotta get shaq out cause he clogs up the lane, which prevents James from doing what he does best and that's driving and finishing or kicking out(please look at steve nash for proof on that one). Their perfect roster that is possible would be Mo at pg, Parker at sg (only cause he's bigger than west), James at the 3, Stoudamire/Bosh at the 4 and a young athletic center at the 5. Doesn't even need to be a top notch center, just someone big who can run the floor (even a tyson chandler type could help).

The bottom line is i doubt there will be a big enough move made during the season to fix this, so it will be another early exit in the playoffs for the cavs. Ifeverybody stays healthy this year has Boston (maybe orlando) Vs Lakers or Denver. I don't expect Clv to be a factor as currently constructed. Sure i'll be talking to you again Mont;)

Saying shaq isn't a good fit in Cleveland is just wrong. Our previous two starting centers were Ben Wallace and Z...just as slow, if not slower than shaq. The Cavs' problem at the start of this season is that a) shots aren't going down, b) Delonte West is being limited, c) Mike Brown. Of course the 4 position isn't exactly the best either, but hopefully Hickson develops throughout the season.

At least Ilgauskas can get out of the way and hit 18 footers like layups. Shaq can't do neither.

Varejao is an overrated player, especially on defense.

The team doesn't have any sort of efficient front-court defense.

And they ALL rely on LeBron to score or produce every single point in the game.

I won't be surprised if they don't make it of the first round.

Shaq clogs up the paint area which removes the ability for LBJ to drive in and score or drive in and dish out to his shooters. Thing is I see CLE as a team that when is on a roll that likes to run, with Shaq you can't have that now. They have to take a page from the Miami Heat playbook of 2006 and take it slow and realize that defense is the way to win with Shaq and slow game, a fast game with Shaq is like the Suns from last year, failure..

LeBron doesn't need to change his game. They just need better players around him. What do you think of Wilbon's idea that Iverson should go to the Cavs?

Iverson would not solve any problems. We need a better player to play the 4 and allow Varajeo to come off the bench where he belongs. Delonte needs to be playing over Parker because he at least has the ability to score and generate some of his own shots.

sixringz: Thought I'd let the season get going a bit before I jumped back in. I pretty much agree with you on Lebron's situation and what the Cav's need. It will be interesting to see if Lebron gets a ring or more (which I think he will) or become one of those players who put up monster numbers but retires ringless. Thanks for "helping me out" with my question:roll:

Btw, now that my man and crew did their thing last year I can just sit back and watch the current season and not have to deal with the "Kobe can't win without Shaq....etc stuff. Just for you I'm not even going to start another Laker Watch!!!;)

(Come on D. Howard, crush Shaq tonight!)

Yep, the Cav's looked good last night. I think they were hyped up considering Orlando put them out last year. Mo was especially fired up to play well against Orlando with all the criticism he took last year for not playing well. He and Lebron were sizzling hot and Shaq got Howard in early foul trouble. We'll see where they go from here.

no rashard lewis so it doesn't matter. You can't judge between the two teams when the most OBVIOUS mismatch between the 2 teams isn't on the court.

wow? Are you trying to say Delonte West isn't an important part of the Cavs? He is the best perimeter defender on the team, and that's where Orlando killed Cleveland in the playoffs, the perimeter. Rashard Lewis won't fix how pitiful Orlando's defense was yesterday.

Maybe if he was taking performance enhancing drugs he would have been. I'm kidding, sort of.

LOL at thinking Delonte West can guard Rashard Lewis. Wasn't Delonte there last year in the ECF?
