They were ranked 10 and we just beat the 12, USC has beaten no one, how could you possible believe they are the Number 1 team in the nation.

whydoes it matter. Unless either LSU or USC choke...they will meet in the National championship. Then we'll see whos better...
Stay strong, fellow Tiger fan. To make matters even more annoying they say that USC won the national championship, even though we are the team who played in the game and the team that has the trophy. LSU just needs to concentrate on winning out, then we'll be able to prove who is really the best team in the nation.
Look, USC has done nothing but dominate. It is not their FAULT that they play with a weaker schedule. dkhw
Is it? Because last I checked the school makes calls and determines who their non-conference opponents are. I'm sure you'll just give the excuse that nobody wants to play them.
Wait, does it even matter who's freakin' number 1? Because LSU, if they win against Florida, will be undisputed number 1, but if they lose, they won't be, and that Flordia-LSU game is coming up, so who cares?dkhw
What what I'm sayin'. LSU doesn't have the media on their payroll(not my words). They just gotta win out. Then, everything else will fall in place.

Yeah, you guys still have to survive that brutal two games with Florida. Good Luck.
I think we can all admit that VT was completely overrated. Their ranking was based mostly on good feelings and sympathy. LSU is a great team, but I don't see why they should be #1. Either team is a fine #1, but USC has reputation. LSU has to prove that they belong there, and a few games doesn't really do that. murlow12
USC is a good team, but I think their "Hollywood/SoCal" image carries them a bit too far. I find it a bit ironic that as soon as the Raiders and Rams disapperead from the Los Angeles area, USC started inching closer towards the top of the NCAAF polls. Now don't get me wrong, USC is a great team and I feel they do deserve to be seated at No. 2 in the rankings. However, LSU looks like monsters this year compared to everyone else.

That statement is completely untrue. LA lost its NFL teams after the 94 season, and USC didn't gain national prominence until 2002. They went 43-41 from 1996 to 2001. While I admire your active imagination, I would ask that you please do some research before you make such claims.I think we can all admit that VT was completely overrated. I completly agree with this statement.

It didn't happen that quickly. But over time, the LA area became deprived of football and realized their greatest hope and potential to shine in the national football spotlight would come from USC. That has been achieved and Pete Carroll is a great guy with a great team. But back to the original topic of this thread, LSU is on fire and until some huge upset happens, I see LSU and USC in the National Championship to settle the argument.

Should be fun to see how it unfolds. That's exactly what scares me. I'm a diehard Sooners fan and know that they have flaws that haven't been exposed yet. Same goes with Florida. I get very nervous watching OU because I know that when they play on a true national level, they can easily crumble. I think LSU and USC can perform under the microscope very well. However, this season for the Sooners reminds me of the 2000 season when they won the national championship. They started out ranked barely in the top 25, but slowly and surelymade their way to national champions. I can't wait for the rest of this college football season. No hateful feelings towards your teams. It's all about the fun of college football!
Idk but same week LSU and FLorida play Texas and OU play, so the top 5 could be complety different. Plus if OU or Texas blow each other out, they could get some number 1 votes as well.Espurs117
I'm going to have my heart and blood pressure checked out before that week. I'm also going to ask for some pain pills. That way I can have something to calm me down before both of those games. Maybe some Valium or Vicadin. I just want to be sedated that weekend.

Wait, so USC doesn't have to prove they're #1 and LSU does?

Not exactly. USC doesn't have to do as much b/c they were already on top. They just have to maintain. LSU has to really impress to prove that they belong there. It's really not a difficult concept, real life actually works this way as well.[QUOTE="geaux321"][QUOTE="murlow12"]I think we can all admit that VT was completely overrated. [QUOTE="dkhw"]OSU-Texas -> missable
LSU-Florida -> Not a college fan if you miss it.
Espurs117
Agreed, but OU/Texas isnt missable. ;)
I guess it depends. If OU is winning by 2 TDs after 1st quater, I won't watch it. If it stays within a TD or a FG after the 1st quarter, I will probably watch it.
