That's what I was thinking.

Is this really that big of a deal? Hell, if my qb dislocated his non-throwing shoulder, I would still keep him in the game.

I hope they make sure Jay Cutler quits after halftime if his team is losing.

I don't remember the last time I saw a concussion in madden, so this won't be a huge difference maker.

You can't be serious are you? The Madden tackling and collision detection has been a total joke for years now. During a full game of Madden you'd be lucky to see maybe 5 tackles that looked like the real thing you see on Sunday. I'm not into the BB game like others are... but it's really pathetic that it took Backbreaker to introduce a revolutionary tackling and physics engine in a Football game... and it wasn't EA's Madden doing it. EA/Tiburon are the ultimate slackers... and are also proving they don't have the talented devs to elevate the Madden franchise in any way. This concussion announcement is beyond absurd and a waste of time. Typical EA looking for more BS to put "On the back of the Box".

Madden is all hype every year now... and it's a reheat that has taken baby steps every year. I've always referred to the tackling in Madden as "Grenade" physics. Because when a defender hits a ball carrier... all the defenders start getting blasted backwards, to the ground or into the air etc...It's pathetic AI the Madden tackling engine. If you need to see tons of examples... just go on YouTube. Below is one example of the tackling AI's suckage.

now for their next improvement they should get rid of their monoploy on the NFL franchise and allow free market competition again.

that way sega sports can go back to making nfl games that were a far better than EAs madden series, and I can stop playing 2k5...

I see what you're saying, but that seems to only limit the game from a visual perspective, no?

I think the biggest problem most have with Madden is that it's had 5 games/attempts/releases on the so called 'Next Gen' systems and EA/Tiburon has done nothing but take baby steps... especially with the tackling physics. The guys that did Backbreaker in their FIRST attempt blew Madden away in the physics/tackling dept. There's no excuse at this point for EA to still be giving us the same dopey REHEATED tackling which is not physics based... but animation based. That's why the game looks unrealistic half the time because it always has to finish an animation. NCAA FB 11 actually does tackling better than Madden 11 somehow. But the main point is gamers are fed up with EA just cashing in on Madden every year with no effort put forth and not really taking the game up a few notches whatsoever. I hate to bring 2K FB into the mix... but NFL 2K5 and All Pro FB still do tackling better and more realistic than Madden. And Backbreaker is all about the physics and tackling so Madden isn't even on the same planet as BB. If I had a genie lamp and he grasnted me one wish from EA that they had to answer HONESTLY... Myl question to EA would be ... "Do you just not care about REALLY improving Madden in all areas because it fills the cash cow even when minimal effort and additions are put into each sequel... OR... are the Tiburon Devs just inept and NOT CAPABLE of bringing Madden up a level like the BB physics engine did?" I think the answer would be yes to both questions actually. The Madden Tiburon team is very mediocre... and EA sells Madden on hype... not gameplay. I'd actually like to see EA give another Dev team a crack at Madden. Tiburon has been stuck in the mud for years now. Let the EA Canada team that does NHL or Fight Night take a shot at it! Can't be any more of a let down than it's been already. And it's not that Madden 11 was a 'Bad' game... it should just be so much MORE by now!
