We'll see who was right and who was wrong after it's all over. Just for fun! :)

I have a few...

1.) The New York Rangers will at the minimum appear in the Eastern Conference Finals.

2.) Sidney Crosby will recieve a monster hit this seson... I'm talking so hard he won't even have to fake that he got his life wrecked to get a penalty called!

3.) Redwings will at minimum appear in the Stanley Cup Finals. C'mon... same dominant team from last year plus Hossa. How can Detroit screw up?

The only thing that could cause Detroit to not hoist the Cup again this year would be the Stanley Cup hangover lol. They'll definitely make at least the Conference Finals imo. The Sharks once again have an amazing regular season, but have question marks going into the playoffs. I'm hoping they can at least make it to the Finals lol.

prediction: nhl still wont matter here in the U.S.

Ah, I used to be just like you my friend. I hated every sport I didn't watch and was ignorant enough to never give those sports a chance. To be honest I was fearful of the idea of the sports I didn't watch becoming more popular than the ones I did watch. Believe it or not, just 7 months ago I said the exact same thing about the NHL, then I actually went to an NHL game and fell in love with the sport.

Hockey has a larger following than you think, allbeit it's nowhere near football in the U.S. (and honestly no sport will ever top football in the U.S.). Hockey fans are dedicated to their teams and are as hardcore, if not more, than any other sport outside of soccer fans (they're just literally insane fans). I would say you should try going to a hockey game, but I remember how overwhelmed with ignorance I was when I was like you so it's virtually a lost cause trying. I'm not angry at you, I just feel sorry that you hold yourself back from enjoying a great sport.

1. Tampa Bay misses the playoffs by a longshot, add whoever you want, you still need chemistry. Plus they lack the D, as well as have semi-weak goaltending.

2. Detroit, dominate regular season, like they usually do, but are out the first out of the playoffs.

3. I'll go alittle biased here, Avs win their division. Everyone has counted them out, say they'll miss the playoffs, etc. But what they forgot is, we are healthy this year. Goaltending is really iffy, but has been for the last 3 years. I think both Wolski and Svatos go over 60 points. And Foppa makes a return late December/Early January. Hopefully the captain will return for another year.

4. Chicago, they look so good on paper, Havlat, Kane, Toews, Sharpe, Cambell, Duncan, Seabrook, and Huet. I think they make the playoffs as a high seed, but idk, i can't shake the feeling it will be another year of disappointment.

5. Washington is either going to clinch their division or just bomb and that depends on Theo's up-down performance.

Well now that you mention riots there was the riot in Vancouver back in 94' when the Canucks lost to the Rangers. Idk hockey fans are insane too, especially Canada. You could argue that a riot would never happen in a U.S. city over an NHL team, but who knows lol.

It will be interesting to see how the Rangers due without Jagr the Puckhog. There is talk that the Rangers would bring in Sundin at the cost of defenseman, Michal Rozsival to stay under the cap. But that would be stupid...

I guess the popular choice would be Montreal out of the East (if Carey Price doesn't choke again) and Detroit out of the West (barring any injuries).

IMO this is how it works if Sundin goes to the Rangers. The offense becomes potent, but defense is more questionable. You could replace Rozsival with the Rangers upcoming #1 defensive prospect Sanguinetti but the downside to that is he'll be rushed into the NHL, though Sanguinetti is excelling in the AHL. He may adapt better than critics might expect.

Sundin would provide 25-35 goals which is a big boost. Sundin would basically be the cherry on top for the Rangers. He'd have to be willing to take a much lesser offer though because the Rangers need some cap space for call ups so he's likely to only make $5 million a year with the Rangers (where as the Canucks offered $10 million for 2 seasons). I think that's good though because it'll show not all athletes are about money, he genuinly would want to play in New York if he's accepting such a lesser salary offer.

But there's another problem aside from cap space issues... He'd be the fifth center on the team. This would force either Gomez or Drury or even Dubinsky on third line to move to wing so Sundin could find a spot to play center.

1. Sundin finally makes up his mind and signs in Montreal.

2. Sens, Rags, Pens all fail to make the playoffs.

3. Hawks surprise everyone and make the finals vs Mtl.

4. Habs win the cup.

Extremely. Especially considering the fact that Hossa will be paired with Datsyuk or Zetterberg. I'm not a Wings fan at all butt hat's fn scary dude. I think they're going to win another Cup, just cause I don't see anyone who can seriously compete with them.

I hate to say it, but I think Philthy is going to have a solid year.

And I hate to say it Vancouver fans, but it looks like the Canucks is a franchise a lot of Free Agents don't want to touch.
