I was very surprised to hear this. I didn't think there was any chance for someone to win after missing the entire month of September.

Remember when Mauer missed the month of April last year? He still won the MVP award. But I see where you're coming from though.

If you're going to miss a month, April is the month to miss. I mean, MVPs have been given in the past solely for performances in late August / September. Miguel Tejada, anyone?
