Congrats to Bert, Mr. Gillick and specially to my countryman Robbie Alomar in their induction to Cooperstown.

It was wonderful to watch. Watching Alomar and Gillick bring 2 WS here to Toronto (afterwards on video, too young then(, Almoar delivering the biggest hit in franchise history off the best closer at the time...and then seeing them today, talking about that among other stories. It was fun to listen to them. And I wish I would have been able to see Blyleven pitch. Nasty curveball from what I hear. Waiting 14 years, totally deserves it.

Congrats to all 3 of them!

Alomar would certainly be up there among my favorite baseball players to watch...he excelled at everything he did on the field.

Alomar was far and away one of my favorite second basemen to play the game and though I missed out on Bert's career being a bit young, I do have Chris Bermsn's great Bert Be Home Byleven to keep me going. Cooperstown is a place that truly has to be seen to be believed. I live not far from there and it's always a joy to walk through it's threshold.

I love Gillick's habit of butchering a team's farm system in exchange for quick success, then bolting town just as the inevitable decline begins. He gets remembered for the wins, while his successors are doomed to fail.
