Greedy Damon. Now we got to bat Nick Johnson(a good OBP guy) who gets injure ALL the time instead of having good old Johnny and his Yankee Stadium made swing. Can AJ hold up another season healthy? Good thing we got Vazquez to eat a lot of innings out of the 4th spot.

Like always the AL East is strong as ever with the Rays and Sox looking to take the crown back. The M's look the dethrone the Angels out West with a young Rangers team close to breaking through. And the crappy Central will send another 80 something winner to the playoffs.

I don't know if they can win the AL, but I expect the Mariners to perhaps make a playoff run. If Bedard gets healthy, how dirty would that be? Felix, Lee and Bedard in the same rotation.

I hate the Yankees, I'm pulling for the Sox to win the division if their rotation stays healthy. Beckett, Lester, Lackey, Dice-K, and Wakefield all can win big games.

Like the Phillies the Yankees would still need to win the first two playoff series which is far from being a given. They also have a lot more talent in their division than the Phillies do so their trip to the promised land could be a little more difficult. Again I would say that the Yankees have about a 20-25% chance of repeating as AL champs.

You really believe that there is more than a 50% chance that the Yankees will be in the World Series this year?

I want to feel optimistic about the Mariners, but I don't see where the scoring will come from. A 3-4-5 of Lopez, Bradley, and Kotchman/Griffey doesn't inspire much confidence.

yes. Hey im a Mets fan but the Yanks pretty much have the money to do w/e they want and to get whoever they want and have created a Juggernaut team. The Mets have promised change and saying everyone is healthy. Hopefully they can make it to the PO this year.

Not resigning Matsui BIG mistake he was pretty much the catalyst for a lot of come from behind wins and I've seen a lot games where Matsui simply by extending an inning can cause a team's pitcher to implode because that picture now has to face Pay Rod or Jeter as the final out of an inning.

I would say it was a mistake but not a big one. Instead of Nick would should had sign him unless he want to play the outfield.

Well I'd love to see the Rays,Twins, and Mariners all the way but I think for Tampa and Seattle its a little of a long shot. I have confidence in the Rays and Twins offence while for the Mariners I have confidence in their pitching. I think the Rays are definitely in the Top 3 in the Majors when talking about 3,4,5 hitters(Longoria, Pena, and Zobrist) and the Twins have a well balanced lineup that includes M&M and the newly aquired Hudson. i hope these 3 teams take over the American League next season though I know its highly unlikely. I think the Yankees or Angels will again be playing in late October, hopefully the Angels will take it out of the two though next time around:)
