I argue this with my friends all the time. I can't pick one, but I can for sure tell you it's NOT baseball or basketball.MartinRiggs15
i have to agree with u about basketball. i play basketball but when u look at the pros its not like every player is really athletic.
Hockey and rugby, tough call between those two because in hockey you're always giving 100%, but in rugby you're getting beaten around. PBSnipesyea we all know in other sports Athletes only give 15.67%

I'm not talking about if its hard to learn or not, its just many of the people I've talked to who think hockey isn't one of the toughest sports to play only played houseleague, its a completely different game when you play rep.[QUOTE="syztem"]http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/sportSkills#PBSnipesI can repsect Boxing as their number one choice, but those rugby numbers are rediculous.Next time they should go with judges that know what the **** they're talking about for all the sports.
Yeah, I'll accept boxing as #1 and I was very glad to see that ice hockey was runner-up, but when basketball and especially baseball outrank rugby in terms of toughness, you've got a flawed list.
SOCCER int even on he list? soccer is the most physically demanding, football gets breaks btween evry play, bseball soem players dont even play field and you get half an inning to sit and watch the other team, soccer is always going, no stoppages

Most athletic sport really doesn't make much sense...but I think I get what you are trying to ask...it would have to definetly be gynastics or decathalons....atheletes that participate in these sports can probably do most othersports in the world and perform at a high level. They train their bodies to perform and excel in many areas where as most other sports you train to improve in a few...

YA no wrestling is the hardest thing you will ever do in your life. Most athletic individuals ever. Any sport that requires you to be at a specifec weight makes it a whole lot harder
I cant really say, but It definately isnt baseball. I think people may discount football as the o and d linemen are 300+ lb and some have large guts, but many(most) are excellent athletes that could outrun most of us.bunchofpixelsBut the skills needed for football aren't as well rounded as those for tougher sports like hockey and boxing. Because of the specific positions players tend to specialize in certain skills, linemen focus on strength, RB's on speed and power, WR's on hands and quickness etc. Whereas in hockey most players are capable of playing any position (except goalie of course) because of the more diverse skillset.
This is a no brainer. Soccer, period! These people run miles and miles, and have to play extremely well the whole game. Sometimes they have to play their best and step up after they've run miles in the game.
Baseball you can't even consider because they just stand around the whole time, what's so interesting about that? Basketball is somewhat athletic, but mostly sprinting. Tennis is in the same category as soccer, but almost as hard. For 2-4 hours, you need to be able to spring or run back and forth at any time and hit the fastest shots you can, no matter how tired you are. Football, it depends. If you're trying to protect/sack the QB, you need to be able to withstand pain, but also need endurance if their offense is good. WRs need to be since they sprint every play. But really though Footballl is one of the most demanding, since it's agility, strength, quickness, and toughness, all in one!
