Here's a link to see the three covers
Looks pretty great. The game's set to come out October 4th and I'll probably be getting the Jordan cover one on release day.

You can't follow 2K11's Jordan with a current player.honestly, i like the actual covers, but i wish they could all be limited edition. Why not put a current player on it?? i know they were some ofthe greatest ever, but that doesnt mean we shouldnt let some great players we have today have a shot

I think this mean we'll get to play memorable moments in Magic's and Bird's too in the next one. Sounds cool.
This looks like a crossover move, they should have really good ball handlers in this cover if thats the case
my suggestions - Allen Iverson, Tim Hardaway, Pistol Pete Maravich.

how lame would that look if the year after they have the greatest player of all-time on, they put..... Tim Hardaway on the cover lmao[QUOTE="Spellingiscool"][QUOTE="realistic44"] What are you talking about? TH1Sx1SxSPARTA

I like my homophobic athletes as much as anyone. But yeah, it would look like a step down coming right after MJ.

Im just saying if your going to have a cover looking like a crossover move they should put ai or tim because they obviously are the best to break opponents down lol. get what im saying?
[QUOTE="Jagged3dge"]dont say it like its bad it's jordan hehehe. .Looks really nice. I won't buy limited edition so I guess Jordan again for me.
doubalfa
Uhh nothing against Jordan, I just like some varity on my covers.
And for those saying that they can't go back to a current player after a Jordan cover, well how do you expect them to go back after like 3 or 4 years with HoFs on the cover. Its a lose lose situation. In actuality, the situation actually worsens the higher the pedestral is built.

Dude I get your point but thats a terrible example. Hardaway would never get a cover deal. I don't think it would be that damaging to feature Dirk on the 2k12 cover after Jordan's 2k11. I'm sure plenty of people wouldn't care either.

No we don't because no crossover move is being done on any of those three covers. You must be talking about the gamespot placeholder image.First off, they should of used current players. I don't really care for the "legends" or whatever, as I want players on the cover that are actually relevant in today's society. Second off, why are they using Jordan again? 2K11 as a whole was based around him, so I don't understand why they didn't use someone else instead of putting him on the cover yet again. At least they give you two other options though.
I know lot's of people are huge fans of Jordan, but just because he was arguably the greatest NBA player of all time doesn't mean he should be on the cover two years in a row.

SilentSopranoOF COURSE these players are relevant in today's society! To this day, I know that I and many others still watch highlights of these players in awe. If it weren't for these players, the NBA would be in the gutter today. To say they are now irrelevant is blasphemy.

This. If someone doesn't really know much about Jordan Magic and Bird then I really doubt they'll even be thinking about buying NBA 2k12 in the first place.

I can deal with having "new" legends on the cover like Bird and Johnson, but I don't know why they have to put MJ on the cover yet again. I get it, he's the best basketball player in the history of the NBA. That being said, there are a lot of other famous players they could have put on the cover instead.
And another thing, what I mean by "relevant" was more along the lines of a lot of people want to see their current favorite players on game covers, just like how Madden does it. Contrary to what some people believe, not everyone is in love with MJ and all other other "greats."

Jordan is the greatest of all time, Favre isn't.I don't like them. Too much blur, and the lightening on the Magic cover is downright corny.monkeytoes61This. But why Jordan again? Let Bird and Magic have their time alone too.
I think that the NBA 2k games should focus a little more on the crowd. If it a blowout in the 4th quarter then you should be able to see people evacuating the arena. Just little innovative stuff like that. I mean its stupid when every seat in the house is taken and I've been beating the home team by 20+ since the 3rd quarter.
Following that notion, they could also make some stadiums louder than others. We all know Heat fans are the loudest. :P

Michael Jordan on the cover will always help sell more copies. Thats why.

Fair enough. See i set you up for that.
I agree, except for the last sentence, lol. I also want stuff like the crowd exploding when a game winning shot is made, or something similar to that. The crowd pretty much seems dead whenever I would hit a huge shot in 2k11. The announcers are also underwhelming at best if I hit a game winner with 1 second left. Because time is still on the clock, they seem to treat it like any other shot and don't see it as anything special. Announcers seem to only really give merit to buzzer beaters, and that's completely bland.I think that the NBA 2k games should focus a little more on the crowd. Yeah that's true. If anything the announcers tend to show a lot of intensity and emotion during buzzer beaters at the end of quarters and stuff. Game winning shots just go straight over their heads.
Yeah if they need an example of fans leaving, they should just take a look at Game 6 of the finals. Spellingiscool
Dude. That wasn't at all witty.

Dude, wasn't trying to be witty. The bandwagon crashed and burned, and with 5 minutes left to go in Game 6 of the Finals, the fake fans poured out of the stands in waves. Who cares about being witty, I just like when a fanbase is exposed. Florida fans in general are terrible (outside of Gainesville).I think i'm going to have to go with the Larry Bird cover, the other covers look great, but M.J was just on it for 2K11 and a laker player was on 2K10.G-CITY8The fact that you have a Laker avatar (Kobe) and are picking the Celtics cover over a Laker cover is funny to me for some reason.

It seems like everyone that lives in Florida is from another place. Like if you ask a person where they used to live they'll tell you NY or CA like 75% of the time it seems. Nobody wants to represent Florida lol. Strange since its a nice place to live. I'm one of the only Floridians that take pride in representing FL.
Either way your statement was still not witty.
