SHould change title to a All Star discussion.
Lots of new faces. good for Iguadala and Aldridge for making the teams. Lowry should have been in for Nash, though
Lots of arguments over players with stats or players that arewinning.
Nice to see Aldridge in there. Surprised Parker got in, hes been beast this year but yeah figured they would find a way to leave him out.
Josh Smith and Kyle Lowry are big snubs. Dirk shouldn't be an all star this year.-Halftime-
I agree Dirk shouldn't be there, especially when he himself says he shouldn't be there. Paul Millsap was better in rebounding, assits, and blocks and barely had a lower PPG AVG. I think he got snubbed for sure.
[QUOTE="deuce4eva"]I agree. NBA's Tim Tebow!Definitely Jermey Lin.

Haha indeed. Im already hopped on the Linsanity bandwagon.
[QUOTE="rawsavon"]I guess this questions depends on what you think the All-Star game is. Is it an award for play? or Is it a fan event?PSP107I think fans only vote for the starters. They do (only vote starters). But it is more of a philosophical question about the nature of all-star teams. Should it be the best 12 players in the West (or East) OR the top 12 players fans want to see

Since the fans are the ones paying to see them play, and pay their salaries(not directly) it should be their choice. I wouldn't mind seeing a change in the All-Star weekend in most sports. I don't watch the games, I enjoy the skills competitions much more. If all you want to see is your favorite players play against other, why not have a 3-3 tourney? All the players throw their jerseys into a pile, have someone pick them out, those are your teams. Have two games going on at once, either side of court, winners move on. Big games of horse, trick shots, and freestyle dribbling would be nice additions. Just throwing stuff out there.
I think the AS game is for the fans, as it's a popularity contest. The All NBA teams are the awards.

IDGAF personally...just an all star/exhibition game. I just wanted to know so I could frame my answer accordingly

BOO!Lmao warriors fan? its ok you guys have long history of bad trades. So if Derrick Rose cant play in the all star game JEREMY LIN WILL!!!!!!!!??! hopefully.
That's actually what has made the NHL all-star game a joy to watch these last two years. Barkley even touched on it a week or two ago, on Inside the NBA, before being shot down by Jet and EJ as stupid because it takes away the fans' participation.They should make two captains and just assemble the teams themselves.

I think it's a good idea, anyway. That would be a lot of fun to watch.
And if Lin makes the all-star game, I'm seriously going to laugh. :lol:

While I agree that the NHL all star game has been good lately, I still dislike the player draft system. Why can't they throw their sticks in center ice just before the game and have a fan choose the sides 'blindly'? Same would go for the NBA, just with jersey's or shoes. That way it's a mystery until game time and fans have to tune in to see where their favs play.
Lin makes it into the Up and Comers game, good move there. Instant 10+ million viewers to the AS weekend what with him throwing passes to Shumpert in the Dunk contest.

I'd be fine with that, too, actually. No complaints at all. Randomized rosters or anything of the sort is what I think matters. East vs. West is just boring to me.Please Log In to post.
