NBA LIVE 08 NBA 08 NBA 2K8, which's better?

Live: better gameplay, but it is definetely where i want it to be. Graphics are still ps2-like

NBA 08: Shiny graphics, nothing else.

2K8: Great graphics with nice gameplay, but kinda sluggish game speed. But faster than 2k7.

I have bought 2K8 and it was way better than I had hoped for. The game-play has been improved and the graphics are actually pretty good. Steve Nash looks like Steve Nash. Unlike last year when he shaved his head and the game still had him with the long shaggy hair.

The dunk contest was a nice addition, and it was about time too. That was pretty much the only gimmick NBA Live had the others didn't until now. The sound was very good. Atmosphere definitely feels like a real NBA game. There are alot of little things like body movement and moving around or through screens that stand out once you play a couple of games. It is the little things that blow me away when I judge this game. If you play ball you will know what I mean. If you watch more then 5 games a season you will know what I mean.

I never doubted 2K and they came through again. I have not played Live the game, only the Demo so I will not say what I think of that game until I actually get to play the finished product. But Live better have really improved drastically to stand a chance against 2K this year.

I watch a WHOLE lot of NBA and NCAA basketball and I have to honestly say, while I appreciate the NBA 2K series for what it is, I still prefer NBA Live this year. They have made some MAJOR improvements with the game play. To me it is a very polished game. But, then again, certain features like "dynasty mode" and others are not as important to me as the actual gameplay. I have the PS3 version. Maybe I would feel differently if I played NBA2K8 on the 360, but I do not own one. Once again, for ME and MY tastes it feels like Live was made for the PS3.

I had NBA 2K8 for THREE days and returned it to exchange for Live 08. For me there is no comparison. In the end it comes down to preference and Live just feels better to me this year...

Do people in Live still run like freaking zombies?:P

I don't know if that's the best way to describe it but it's close.

I have previously owned Nba2k7 and loved it, my cousin has Nba Live 07 and I hated it. But this year I wanted to try something different and rentedboth live and 2k8 and compared the two. the quality in 2k8's graphics are a whole lot better than live's i must admit, but the gameplay in Live is funner in my oppinnion...especially whileplaying it on xbox live i feel like nba live 08 has a whole lot more to offer as far as gameplay compared to 2k8.
