Mozilla Firefox won't let me paste the link....but anyway, i'm reading from a couple sources thats sayin it may be download only, which doesn't bother me at all if thats the case...NBA JAM was and that did just fine. I doubt it actually would be digital only, but still....I'm waiting for the game in heavy anticipation. I love 2k....but i've been dealing with nba live since it was called bulls vs lakers. I know people like to jump ship to whats hot, but i generally play any game with a nba logo on it, my collection of basketball games is crazy. good or bad, i'm buying and finishing at least one 82 game season of tha live

Well, 2K has been "hot" since 2000 so that is that. I used to be a NBA Live guy too but when it got to arcade I less the series. About being download only it will have to depend on whether EA anticipates a better return on a hard copies + download investment than just download, of course.

nba 2k was ok in 2000.....it just had nice graphics, live 2000 was the better game....matter of fact my opinion is, it may not matter but o well nba live 2000 vs nba 2k = Live nba live 2001 vs nba 2k1 = equal [meaning the ps one live] nba live 2002 vs nba 2k2 = 2K nba live 2003 vs nba 2k3 = Live nba live 2004 vs nba 2k4 = Live nba live 2005 vs nba 2k5= 2K nba live 2006 vs nba 2k6= tie [before next gen] nba live 2007 vs nba 2k7= 2K nba live 2008 vs nba 2k8 = Live nba live 2009 vs nba 2k9= 2K nba live 2010 vs nba 2k10= Live the following 2k had nothing to compete with.....Live isn't as garbage a people say. Its just when fans ride coat tails, ttheyre going to ride them hard. NO MATTER any improvements the oposition make. Elite was not the worst baskteball game I ever played, you can tell that was the first time who ever developed it has, but it was a pretty decent first attempt. Battlefield 3 got like a 2 gig patch, Elite could have did the same. Its just fans complain so much no matter what you do, forget it...why bother releasing it then. Be stuck with one game. Deep down, no one want to be forced just to play 2k....they want options, so they can be on that system wars nonsense

If this true, I thought EA was going for a strong return of the series? And knowing EA, it will be $60 digital. Also, for me, NBA Live was good from 95-2001. When it debuted on the PS2, thats when the drought begin of bad NBA Live games. Its too bad that it took me to 2K6 to finally jump ship. I was hoping for a strong return from EA considering 2K did fans wrong for charging for features that was always in the series before 2K12.

All NBA Live needs to do is have an incredible multiplayer. Since 2k is always slacking on that department, EA could easily take over by marketing their game towards the online players.

Live is not what it once was. I used to LOVE NBA Live when the PS2 originally came out. Then 2K3, ESPN NBA Basketball (2K4), and 2K5 led a more lifelike brand in 2K. It has been that way since then. I am not a 2K fanboy by any means. I love 2K, but if EA had the better product, I would be playing that. Live 10 was a huge step forward for the franchise, and then they switched developers to the team that made NHL. Why in God's name would you have a hockey studio develop a basketball game? It just didn't make sense to me. Then you had Jesus Andrew Bynum at center court during the demo to Elite, and Carlos Boozer dunking from the free throw without even a running start. I am hopeful that EA has rebuilt this game. The graphics look nice, but we haven't even seen a trailer, or a gameplay video for it. Same thing happened with Elite, then it got canned. Until I see substance, I refuse to say that EA will make the better product over 2K. If the title is only a digital title, then great, because when people buy it and complain that they got ripped off for $60 bucks, I may actually laugh.

I thought the NBA Elite demo was a lot of fun and I really liked the controls. I also liked the fact that when you did a create a player he wasn't a complete and utter scrub like they still are in 2K. I love the 2K games, don't get me wrong, but I felt Elite had a lot going for it and I have felt that the overall gameplay was a bit more solid than in 2K's game. 2K12 is awesome, but I do wish they would do better with the passing and also put the 3 point contest and dunk contest back into the original game and not have it be some dumb addon. Looking forward to Live this year though as well as 2K.
