I'm just waiting for someone to say Live and get laughed at...
I grew up with NBA live but the second I played NBA 2k6... WOW!!!
I liked Live more up until the 360 versions where NBA 2K6 and 2K7 were better to me. I am going to rent both this year though and see which one I like better since EA is "tighting" up the the gameplay.nickdastick:lol: EA gameplay. They says this everyyear

that's why I put the quotation marks on tightening and also said I am renting both to see how they play. I thought Live 05 on Xbox was AWESOME and even 06 had great gameplay just not enough to do. 07 was junk though.
i've preferred 2k over live since the nba 2k franchise started.
for 08 ea is supposed to have a big improvement with the addition of the "go-to move" which is basically 2k's sig moves from last year. i want both franchises to have huge impovements yearly, that way it assures that we sports game fan are always in for a treat.

The "go-to moves" may be similar to sig moves but from what I saw, the go-to moves are implimented way better. Plus, they aren't just how guys shoot, it's a certain shot they take at a certain point in the game. I watched the vid of it and it's pretty neat to see Kobe doing his last second fader because it looks PERFECT! Now, it looks cool but that might not mean much if the gameplay is still junk like 07.
Well, I grew up on NBA Live. Been playing Live since the mid 90's on the SNES. But yes, in recent years 2K has been the better game. And again, this year, EA is saying that it's making major enhancements to improve its gameplay. But I've been burned too many times by them in recent years to just go out and drop $60 on it. I'd say (and many will argue with me) that presentation wise and graphics/player models were usually a bit better in the Live series. Most of the player models are spot on. But the gameplay has suffered greatly because of these superstar moves and animations that they tried to implement. 2K has in recent years had much better and smoother gameplay. If they could just combine the gameplay of 2K with the graphics of Live, we would have a perfect NBA game.msjr78
I agree with everything you said. I also grew up on Live but switched to 2K.

NBA 2K8 :DNgamer05Darn it. Just darn it. There are too many good games coming out by this year's end, and I can only get 2 games max. NBA 2K8 may be the best B-Ball game ever, since 2K7 was very good, with the only flaws being that the nets looked liked plastic, and the defense wasen't as great as the superb offense.

 No, really, I mean it. At least compared to the rim nets of NBA 07 for the PS3, they don't look as good.[QUOTE="NetYankEagle"][QUOTE="Ngamer05"]Darn it. Just darn it.
