This year I have made officially the jump, to me College Basketball is the best. And don't get me started into the greatness of March Madness. I still like the NBA but the flaws might be outweighing the pros. I mean, over half the teams get into the playoffs, the refs giving preferential calls to stars, refs not calling the game equally the last 2:00 minutes as the first 46 min. Guys getting fat contracts and then mailing it in. 82 games long, best out of seven in the first round, etc, etc, etc.

Maybe they should get the FIBA refs to call their games, seeing how the would hate all players equally LOL. What do you guys think?

Curling. Yes the NBA needs new refs and less playoff teams.

Both equally. I love March Madness but I also love the NBA Playoffs since I grew up watching the NBA more the College Basketball.

Agreed. I also have a particular team to root for in the NBA, unlike college basketball.

College Basketball is way more exciting because players show more hustle. March Madness is miles ahead of the NBA playoffs too....I do enjoy the Finals though

Pro basketball. The skill level of the players is so much higher, and people actually run offenses in the NBA.... Now, don't get me wrong, I love college B-Ball(I'm a big Villanova fan) BUT the 35 second shot clock is garbage(Takes alot of the excitement out of the game, imo) and the skill level of college ballers pales in comparison to NBA talent. I like the NBA a lot more, but college basketball is cool. The NBA does need to think about including less playoff teams and shortening the first round though. That, and the terrible referees are my only complaint about the NBA.

NBA by a long shot, College is ok when it comes to March Madness but unless you're watching some of the higher ranked teams or those with a superstar-type player its just boring to me. (+ Tar Heels are killing me this year my god!) The NBA game is faster, the skill lever is higher, and every play can be a highlight. Yes the refs suck, yes the West has overall better teams than the East (although its starting to stabalize a bit), but the good outweighs the bad for me.

I like almost everything about the NBA more than I do about college ball. Yeah, March Madness is great, but those Cinderellas can't be followed after the second or third round -- because they're out of it. I now watch to see the stars who will be in the NBA the next season. Everyone leaves early so college is also pretty hard to follow.

NBA by far. The only thing I like about college is the refs and March Madness. It's kind of stupid how most of the college stars leave after only playing a year or two of basketball. Makes it less interesting imo

NBA. Won't even watch a college basketball game til March. I find it boring when there isn't. Much on the line. Won't even watch Duke UNC which is on espn everytime they play. NBA I always watch Laker games and occasionally I'll see a game in which the lakers aret apart of. But that's once a month.

I'll take the NBA, with all it's admitted flaws. College is cool, but I only follow certain players that show pro potential and the latter rounds of March Madness.

Had a mni discussiona couple of seasonsago with aguy who likes college ball much better, he and others criticize the NBA for its "over paid, pampered, traveling, cry baby players...etc.

My response was that weekend there was a double header on....I believe it was Celtics vs Atlanta and Lakers vs New Orleans. In the first game I got to see Kevin Garnett-one of the most versatile cenetrs/pf's ever, Ray Allen-maybe the best long range shooter ever (and a decent all-round player), Paul Pierce-one of the better forwards/and clutch players of the game, Rondo-One of the better up and coming point guards of the game, Boston as a whole-Top notch defense and team play (I believe it was the year they won it all).

Thats just one team in the first game, not to mention good players like Joe Johnson, Josh Smith (Atlanta was playing very good then), Pau Gasol..etc.Great players like Chris Paul, Kobe...

I get why people like college better but with all it's flaws the NBA has the best of the best basketball players and that's what I want to see and/or follow.

Probably the only good game that night, he's right they are crybabies who only care about their check, they don't play hard every game or play defense.

NBA easy! College is boring and the skill level is low. Also lol at reducing the number of playoff teams! NO WAY the NBA should even take that seriously. No valid reason to do so. Shorter first round yes, less team is no and a great big LOL.

Even if the teams are sad, for instanceif the Heat are playing the Pacers I still get to see D Wade (future HOF'er)and D. Granger (pretty decent talent).

Are there cry babies in the NBA yes, are there some decent hard working players yes, more good guys than bad.

I like both a lot, but if I had to choose I would take the NBA easy. The overall talent of the athletes is just amazing!

I love college ball and couldn't care less about the NBA. I love watching up-tempo style teams and games where the players actually play their asses off. It's sloppier, but faster and more exciting. Gotta love the college atmosphere as well.

Also lol at reducing the number of playoff teams! MoonMarvel

  • MLB: 8/30 * 100= 27% make the playoffs.
  • NFL: 12/32 * 100= 37% make playoffs.
  • College Hoops: 65/347 * 100= 19% make playoffs.
  • NBA: 16/30 * 100= 53% who me the playoffs.

Seriously? Why don't we just let everybody in and play a round-robin. Mediocre teams make the playoffs constantly out of the 8 and 7 spots. The playoffs should be a reward, lets put them(and us) out of their misery and lets keep them out of the playoffs.

How many 8 or 7 seeds have ever won the Title? That's what I thought. Those team are wasting time and space.

Yes, but if you cut the 8 and 7 seed out of the NBA playoffs the 6 or 5th seed are the Jets or Marlins of the world; the only reason that a 5 or a 6 don't generate the buzz or excitement when they go deep in the playoffs is because people have the unrealistic expectations of seeing an 7 or 8th seed making it to the Finals.

true but the key is they barely dont make it past the 1st round. The Nuggets in 1994 did a upset as an 8th seed defeating the Sonics a number 1 seed. Golden State did it in 2007 vs the Mavs also a number 1 seed.

Sure, but I don't think is worth it. Either way I don't think David Stern roams this forums so my hopes are none :(

I prefer NBA because the pace of the game and skill of its players is so much better to watch.

I rather March Madness over the NBA Playoffs though.
