...hell, I count 8 teams better than the Lakers right now.
Chicago, Miami, Boston, NY, San Antonio, Dallas, OKC, Memphis...then maybe even the Clippers, Portland, Denver

I love the Lakers and they are my team, but I don't see how they can be included. Shortened season, almost no off- season, no coach and new system?

I don't see Spoelstra ever getting Coach of the Year. People think he should win with that team as long as he doesn't **** it up. Coach of the Year is usually given to the guy who coaches a team that outperforms expectations.

Yeah exactly, it's "team that did better than expected". For some reason the voters always think the coach is the reason the team played well.

Gregg Popovich and Phil Jackson have won the award once which is the same amount of times as Sam Mitchell and Mike Brown. That's not right.
