[QUOTE="atlflcns7_2004"][QUOTE="4skins4life"] Nets fans have reason to be excited again. It looks as though the deal is money on Monday. The Mavs are selling the farm to get Net's dead weight PG, Jason Kidd.
Kidd may make some differences in Dalls but his hopes of winning a ring are circling the drain and his chances don't look much better on a Mavs team that still lacks any real low post presence and seriously lacks experience in the head coaching department.
Poor Kidd. I would almost feel sorry for him if not for his millions of dollars in the bank.
The Mavs ended up doing exactly what Mark Cuban said they would NEVER do which is throw Kieth Van horn in the trade which will cost them a hefty luxury tax this year. I guess the one thing you can't take to the bank is Cuban's word.
Suckers!

Haha agreed. Nets made out like bandits. How long do you think Kidd will last until retirement? No where close to how long all this young talent will last the Nets. Great trade for a team trying to rebuild.
By the time all that young talent gets good enough to compete at a high level, the Mavs current star players will be dead weight. They need to win now, and getting Kidd was essential. Without a good big man left on the trade market, Kidd was the best man available. He's right up there with Nash as a point guard, and he'll get the Mavs shots that they never got before with Harris.
I completely agree with all that you said but unfortunately for the Mavs it still won't be enough to get them over the hump. They may even have a harder time against San Antonio with this new lineup. We will just have to wait and see but to me it doesn't look good for them in a stacked Western Conference.
