Lets just cancel the Red River Shootout game between Texas and OU every year. Instead we can just have each team play Texas Tech or Oklahoma State and whoever wins or looks more impressive with style points! is the Big 12 South Winner. What do you guys think? Espurs117I'm more than willing to give you a condolence hug right now.
Blew it against Texas Tech sorry, Oklahoma looked more impressive at the end of the year so they'll get to take on Florida or Alabama.X360PS3AMD05
How did they blow it? They came back down 16 points in the 3rd. Texas lost in a last second miracle play on the road vs a top 5 team. Oklahoma lost to Texas by 10 on a neutral field. Going to Lubbock is extremely hard. No one mentions that. How hard is it? Ask Oklahoma. They lost there last year to an unranked Texas Tech.Â
From what i understand Texas is thinking about leaving the Big 12 they probably won't though. i hope you remember 45-35 when your watching OU in the National Championship. I'm a Georgia fan if its any consolation
EDIT: new informationÂ
This is why I like the SEC tie-breaker a little better. Say we had the same situation with three teams from the SEC East, if the two higher ranked teams are within 5 spots of one another in the ranking, they take the head-to-head match-up. So, in that case UT would be playing for the Big 12 title. Like, I think, they should be.sith_acolyte15
I agree with that statement completely. It would be stupid for Texas and Oklahoma to not play every year, it's one of the biggest rivalries in college football. For everyone arguing about the BCS standings this is just as much the Big 12's fault as it is the BCS.

It is better for sure. However what would happen if 3 teams had a a 3 way tie and all 3 teams were within 3 spots of eachother in the BCS? Chaos! Herbstreit mentioned that yesterday.

Espurs was joking about that part.

And what we have now isn't chaos?

What we have right now is stupidity. At least it comes up with a team tho, what would happen if what Herbstreit said occured? The rules of the SEC don't take that in hand. They would have to make up a rule right away, which would be the worst thing ever.Â
We are not going to leave the Big 12 to whoever said that. That's a rumor that's going around on orangebloods.com. Anyhow, no matter what some one has to say about us losing to Tech, we are getting screwed. Out of the 5 systems used for tiebreakers amongst conferences, we would be chosen 4 out of 5. We beat OU on a neutral field. This is a new season, but look at OU's past NC games and bowl games. They got beat by LSu and then killed by USC. Then 2 years in a row, they lost to Boise State and then West Virginia(a West Virginia team that lost its coach before the game and was heavily underfavored). They can't win the big game including this year's Red River Rivalry where they were ranked #1 going into it.
The thing with the Sooners is, they are a great offensive team, but as soon as they play a team that can match their athletes and play defense, they can't win. This is why we beat them. We bend but don't break. Their D allows a lot of points. OSU put up 41 on them. How can you put a team in a NC who gives up so many points? Sorry for the rant, I have just been really upset these last couple of days. To hell with the gooners!
Also we will never not play OU. That is the best game of the year.Â
[QUOTE="sith_acolyte15"]Don't they still take the head-to-head of the top two? And basically give the third team the shaft.geaux321Yes, they'd throw the team with the lowest BCS ranking out and go with the head to head of the two remaining teams.
What if they didn't play each other that year?

They'd be in the same division, so they had to have played each other.

Lmao top 5 teams done lose by 60 points.. The big 12 is so overrated and TTU losing by 60 and Mizzu losing to KU proves it.. There is no D in the conference besided Oklahoma, and Texas.[QUOTE="Espurs117"][QUOTE="X360PS3AMD05"]Blew it against Texas Tech sorry, Oklahoma looked more impressive at the end of the year so they'll get to take on Florida or Alabama.BLBxLakers24

Mizzou and KU are rivals...this happens in college football you know. Mizzou was overrated, ill give you that.
65-21
I thought it was 75-21. And still top 5 teams dont lose like that.. TTU has no D.. TTU is a product of playing in a conference with no comp or D.. Look they play Texas and only score what 28? and only 21 against Oklahoma.. So a team that averages a mess load of points against weak big 12 teams cant score against the 2 good team in the big 12.
And might I ask which almighty team/conference are you a fan of?sith_acolyte15The SEC... I cant wait for Florida to get in the championship game so Florida can post a mess load of points and run up and down the field on the Big 12..
I think the best match up would be Florida USC... I dont care what anybody says but those are the 2 most talented team in the country..

Two words: "Ole Miss" :lol:Top 25 and 8-4 ohh yeah and a great coach.

Also an ex-Texas QB in Snead. I must say though that SEC teams would not dominate Texas. We are the one team that has great athletes on both sides of the ball, and not just on offense. Florida and Bama are the only SEC teams that would give us a game and possibly beat us. The SEC was rather weak this year. I really wanted to play Bama for the NC this year, but it's looking like Ohio State or Utah for us now.
Also USC was beat by OSU whose 2 great players the Rogers brothers are a product of Texas the state not University.
Top 25 and 8-4 ohh yeah and a great coach.
BLBxLakers24
Yeah, you guys lost to a team at home that got beat by Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, and Alabama. And their last 6 wins were against teams that really aren't all that good this year. I'll give them LSU, that team was just badly inconsistant. But Arkansas, Auburn, UL-Monroe, and Mississippie State? Two of their other three wins were against Memphis and Samford. C'mon, serioulsy?

I'm a Gators fan and don't want to be included in the same stance on the Gators and SEC as BLBxLakers24. It frustrates me to the point of rolling in manure. I hate all this "SEC is great this and that" blah blah. Face reality and realize that the SEC isn't amazing this year.[QUOTE="cmpepper23"][QUOTE="CommanderShiro"]Don't say you guys please. Most SEC fans are as you stated always clamoring on about how great their conferene is.

I sure hope so because I absolutely detest OU and everything they stand for. This year has only deepened my feelings towards them.
