Nick Kaczur of Brantford, Ont., a starting offensive lineman with the NFL's New England Patriots, worked as an informant for U.S. federal drug agents after being arrested in New York on a charge he was carrying a small amount of oxycodone but had no prescription for the powerful painkiller.

Wearing a wire, Kaczur, 28, helped agents build a case against his alleged supplier, Daniel Ekasala, who pleaded not guilty in U.S. District Court on Wednesday to three counts of possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute.globesports

Snitches get Stitches son. Link

Should be seeing a suspension of some sort fromt he league, unless they look at him as a hero for snitching on his dealer who is a father of twin 2 year olds. I hate snitches.

Serious about what? I hate snitches. Why should someone get special treatment for ratting someone out? He should have taken his crimal charges like a man. its not like he wouldnt have gotten off with a slap ont he wrist. Now this guys twin 2 year old girls wont see their father for 3-8 years. I HATE snicthes. Let the cops do their job themselves.

If you're snitching on environmentalists who are planning to do a non-violent but illegal protest to save your ass- yes I hate you.

If you're snitching on drug dealers to save your ass, I don't care.

Eh, as a recovering drug addict I know some of these people are just trying to support their family and are not violent people. This guy wasnt selling crack on the street corners with a gun in his pocket. He was a unemployed construction worker trying to get money to raise his 2 girls by selling pharmaceuticals. I have much sympathy for him.

I find it hard to believe in America where teens are getting jobs so they can get Ipod, someone can't get a job (even at McDonalds) to provide for his family. I don't have sympathy for him b/c he can earn money legally. Chances are selling pharmaceuticals doesn't exactly make him thousands every day.

No its different if its a violent person that is a danger to the public. I said it wasnt the same in my post. This article made this guys sound liek a non violent person selling pharmaceuticals to support his family.

On topic, do you not even know what a snitch is?

snitch(snch)Slang

v.snitched, snitch·ing, snitch·es

v.tr. To steal (something, usually something of little value); pilfer. See Synonyms at steal.

v.intr. To turn informer: He snitched on his comrades.

n.

1. A thief.

2. An informer.

He is by Definition a SNITCH.

You're making it seem like snitching anytime is bad. If you're only saying Kaczur was wrong to snitch on this guy, I can somewhat see that. But I don't agree that snitching in any situation is wrong.

If you had a contract with the NFL and were making tons of money, why wouldn't you save your ass and make a deal? I'm pretty sure if you didn't, you have something wrong with you.

No snitching in terms of having someone arrested IE: Crack dealers on yoru street with guns making the location unsafe. Sure snitch on them, but to turn informant for the police because you got yourself arrested? Hell no. I hate that. Take your punishment and let your dealer get arrested on his own.

He obviously got something out of this deal. Maybe they didn't release it to the press, but unless he has a single digit IQ, he won't agree to do a snitch operation just for the heck of it.

Wow you're close minded. Ever care to take a walk in his shoes? When you sell drugs or do anything illegal you take certain risks, like being caught. Don't make a scapegoat out of Kaszur because the drug dealer took risks.

edit: Do you have idea how the legal system even works?

In whos shoes? Kaszurs? If your talking about being busted I have walked in his shoes and I spent 8 months of a year sentence in worcester county. I didnt snitch out on people to get time off my sentence. I just served my time played spades and whist and got out on parole.

I already said that the Dealer can serve his time but let him get arrested on his own. Let the cops do their job and find them by themselves. Why turn informer and wear a wire. It was a possesion charge. First time offenders get probation 90% of the time unless its for outragous ammounts.

Yes as someone who spent their young adult life dealing with the court systems I know how they work. I was on probation for being in possession of much more then he was in possession of. He was not looking at jail time. He was looking at a slap on the wrist, probation and fines MAX. Especially when you put him celebrity status on the table.

Selling drugs is ILLEGAL. You know why? Cuz drugs do nothing but bad things to people. IF HE WERE A SMART PARENT, he'd go do honest work and not jeopardize his children the way he did. Instead, he tried to take the easy way out for the time being (selling drugs), and, as anyone with an ounce of common sense knows, many risks come along with that territory. I am convinced that when I become a father, I will be damn sure to do things carefully just so my kids don't get screwed from my stupid actions. Yes, the ratting out thing sucks, but if the drug dealer guy were any bit smart, he'd have never put himself in the position to possibly be screwed in the first place.

Your thinking of the Boston Media. Boston FANS are very forgiving of their teams and players, as seen with spygate. The boston media on the other hand is very judgemental.

Just wanted to comment on that one sentence. The drugs he was selling were oxycodone. A pharmaceutical. Also known as Percocet. A painkiller that is prescribed everyday.

Either way the comment int he post was a joke, this was about the Drug USER not the dealer. Pats are looking at a suspension for one of the players and a possible punishment to the organizationa ccording to the Commishes new rules.

[QUOTE="MAILER_DAEMON"]I hate the word "snitch," and can't see how for the life of me getting a drug dealer off the street is a bad thing.+ :|jbrejot

THANK YOU.

Yes, a drug dealer got off the streets, two children got positive attention without being exposed to confusing life choices, and a man who did drugs still got penalized. The real winner is justice.

If you had a contract with the NFL and were making tons of money, why wouldn't you save your ass and make a deal? I'm pretty sure if you didn't, you have something wrong with you.

Just_Osmo

I dont even care if he is on my team I hate the guy now.

LOL, now that's a typical Boston fan right there!!! Glad I'm not your friend, if I was you'd always be looking down upon me from your cloud of judgement.

lol, most people would say im typical boston fan if i defended him.. since when on these forums do typical boston fans condemn their team/players actions?

Well seing as how I don't live on these forums like some people do, I don't know how these Boston fans on here view their players. Everything I've seen however is the way I said it.

Your thinking of the Boston Media. Boston FANS are very forgiving of their teams and players, as seen with spygate. The boston media on the other hand is very judgemental.

LOL, I think I know what I said, and I wasn't talking about the Boston media.

I know what you said, but you dont know what your talking about. I live here and I know how the fans are. You dont live in boston so how do you know what the fans think? The only thing you have to judge is the boston media. You dont deal with the fans everyday like the people who live here do.

LOL, who ever said I don't live in Boston? You're just making up things as you go.

Oxycotin is dangerous when not under the supervision of a doctor (can be even still.) It is related to heroin, and heroin is probably the most dangerous drug there is. I've made my opinion of cannabis known in OT (I'm pro-legalization), but you have to draw the line for some drugs.

I never said I was from Boston either. The fact is you simply assumed I wasn't without any proof whatsoever. I am from Denver. You don't have to love your hometown teams, and I'm proof of that. I dislike most of the teams here, especially the Broncos. John Elway just kinda tainted them for me. Great player, no doubt about it, but a piece of s**t person.

I absolutely hate snitches. He deserves to get his ass beat plain and simple. Nobody likes a rat. Being a snitch is like being a POS on the bottom of a bum's shoe. Where I come from you don't snitch period end of story.

If you're snitching on environmentalists who are planning to do a non-violent but illegal protest to save your ass- yes I hate you.

If you're snitching on drug dealers to save your ass, I don't care.

manningbowl135

Eh, as a recovering drug addict I know some of these people are just trying to support their family and are not violent people. This guy wasnt selling crack on the street corners with a gun in his pocket. He was a unemployed construction worker trying to get money to raise his 2 girls by selling pharmaceuticals. I have much sympathy for him.

I find it hard to believe in America where teens are getting jobs so they can get Ipod, someone can't get a job (even at McDonalds) to provide for his family. I don't have sympathy for him b/c he can earn money legally. Chances are selling pharmaceuticals doesn't exactly make him thousands every day.

absolutely. rather than having the police go search for drug dealers, which is highly dangerous, they get someone he knows to get it done and get the guy off the street.

they got the more important guy (the dealer) off the street. it's not being a snitch to comply with police requests that help society. it's the drug dealers fault for dealing drugs in the first place. like was said above, get a legal job like everyone else. it's unfair to the people who work at mcdonalds making honest money that there's a guy like that making more money than they do by selling drugs.

also, while painkillers are good for those who need them, they are not good to be abused. so i don't understand how just because they are often prescribed makes it okay.

This is the best thread in a while. I gotta say I am one hundred percent with Osmo here. Kaczur is a little ****** and probably cried when he got arrested. You people talking all this **** about the dangers of drugs have probaby never tried one, so you really need to shut the **** up as you have no frame of reference here. Drugs are as much a part of American culture as baseball and apple pie, millions of users have productive lives and millions are complete failures, just like drinkers. Drugs aren't going anywhere. The police do not care about the prospective danger to the community, they just want to multiply their collars by getting punks like Kaczur to play the snitch game, the more it looks like they are making a difference the greater leverage they have when city council writes the following years budget.

To anyone who said, "they got a drug dealer off the streets," get off your high horse and listen to yourself cause it sounds like ****. You don't know this guys life and you don't know him, but chances are he wasn't standing on the sidewalk pushing painkillers like a carnival barker. Most people selling scripts do it among friends from their own home. The fact that Kaczur wore a wire should tell you that he was probably welcomed into this guys home, because if he were selling "on the street" they would have been able to move in on visual evidence. The bottom line is Kaczur is no kind of man, just a coward who can't take a hit.

Nobody is man enough to deal with their own actions these days they have to blame the "snitch"?

Nick Kaczur wasn't man enough to deal with his own actions, and I think the no tattling priciple that is learned in second or third grade should be a lifelong thing. Big guys don't need to get someone else to take the fall with them.

Rather have a drug user walk around doing drugs than a drug dealer walk around selling drugs.
