ohjtbehaaave"]If the Jets cave in then every player that wants more money holds out. This $120 is a legit offer if there's at least $40 million guaranteed. Forget the Raiders stupid offer... the Jets are giving him fair market value in this offer. Now it's becoming to look like a todays player that's all about the money.. being greedy and not caring about his team. If I'm the Jets I tell Revis and his agent he has until monday to decide on the $120 million dollar offer. After that the Jets should turn off the phones and not even answer the agents calls for a while. Make the Revis camp sweat and see how greedy they are being. What Revis and his agent need to accept is that the Jets aren't going to do a deal that doesn't benefit both sides. BTW... both sides have said these negotiations will now be done in private. Won't work, if the Jets dont pay him somebody else will. Revis and his agent know that and have more power in this situation.nobody is going to pay him for a year because he's under contract with the jets...and if he holds out he has to sit out a year...wich means he wont be comming off his best season ever...he will have lost a full NFL season...no one would even pay him near as much as the jets are offering him if he sits out a season and loses a step.
Could possible be two years even if there is a holdout. Funny thing is to he's past the point now where even if he plays for his 1 mil this year, it wont count towards his contract, so he's still stuck with 3 years left after this year.
the only way he's gonna see any more money is if he's traded and his new team signs him to a new contract.....the problem with that is the jets would want multiple picks including atleast a first rounder(possibly 2 first roundrs) and a 2nd rounder...no team except maybe the raiders are going to give up that much, just to have to sign him to a 160 mill contract. and if he sits out a year, it will be 2 full years since he played
