NHL 08 Preview! AMAZING!!!

New Features:

• LB (L1 on PS3) lets you push the puck past a player, then skate around him and get it
• Accuracy when shooting with skill stick depends on how straight you push forward (madden and/or tiger woods)
• Overhauled skating engine/animations
• Left Stick has more control...jam forward for burst, go slow by pushing lightly...jam right for hard cut, roll right for crossovers
• Severity of hitting depends on speed and angle of hit
• No lag online
• Practice mode drills (one on ones, power play, penalty kill)
• All star Skills Competition
• 60 FPS, with same graphics as last year

Oh yeah! I can't wait for this game! I actually thought NHL 07 was the funnest hockey game since NHL 93/94! 08 sounds sick though! I can't wait for the EA games this year! They all have been getting KILLER previews which has not been the case the last couple of years... Here we go EA!

Man this looks definitely way better than NHL 07 which is still great. I definitely need to pick up a PS3 so I can get the better visuals (instead of PS2)juicetino

get a 360...nothing on the PS3 has had better visuals than anything on the 360 yet. NHL will MOST LIKELY be developed on the 360, then ported to the PS3, making the 360 version better anyways.

2 questions for the next installment of this series? Last I played it was NHL 2005. Did it return create a player which 2005 didnt have?

And, can you play multiplayer season/dynasty mode? Such as being able to control multiple teams during a dynasty in one saved dynasty file? (as in the same season, I can control the Rangers and another can control the Devils, and so on)

I always thought NHL 2003 got a bad rap for overly complicated controls...It's controls were awesome and nearly perfect IMO. Matter of fact, it's the last EA NHL game that I bought. If nothing else, I'll probably give 08 a rent, at least.
