The exhibition ames are officially over.

vs. China:Aug. 10, 10:15 a.m. ET
vs. Angola:Aug. 12, 8 a.m. ET
vs. Greece:Aug. 14, 8 a.m. ET
vs. Spain:Aug. 16, 10:15 a.m. ET
vs. Germany:Aug. 18, 8 a.m. ET
Quarterfinals:Aug. 20
Semifinals:Aug. 22
Finals:Aug. 24

IF you guys saw the exhibition games USA looked great in the 1st 3 games. They had energy. They pressured the basketball really good which created alot of turn overs. They blew over the #5 rated team inLithuania. Things went down hill from there. Against Russia Team USA lacked outside shooting and lacked energy. Russia controlled the tempo and Team USA only scored 88 pts. They averaged over 116 prior to that game. USA only beat Russia by 22 pts. The next game was even worst. Against Australia they looked even worst. They played horrible defense. There was no outside shooting at all. 3-18 from 3 point arch. Again they did not run the ball instead let Australia control the tempo. They only won by 11 pts. They looked lazy and bored. If they play like the last two games when the real games start they will lose. They better get their act together.

How they played so far was probably better for them longterm than just blowing everyone out and thinking it was going to be easy. It is better preparing them for closer games when they no doubt find themselves in some very close games or behind in a game down the line.

I really like that they added Micheal redd for some outside shooting, but i think they need more defense (maybe Garnett or Ron Artest), and a few more pure shooters (maybe Joe Johnson or Ray Allen).

THey are looking better lately then they did before, but im not to sure if they will get gold or not. I hope they do, but i do see a few weakness still.

I wish you would of named it Olympic Basketball official thread but you beat me to it. Anyone know where we can watch the replays because I think the games will be on live at around 4am Pacific time and work is going to get in the way. I think this olympic basketball will be better than the NBA anything. I think US will take it this year but it wont be a easy run. Spain looks good and I believe they will challenge the US the most also Greece will be a front runner too. This is probably my country Argentina last real run since the up and coming talent hasnt showed anything special but they will still be there.

ESPN or ESPN2 is where all the games will be aired. During the exhibition games were aired 5am PT (live) but games also aired 4pm PT later that day. So if you miss it the first time you can watch it later most likely. on ESPN 2 most likely

there refs suck. I remember back in 2004 Melo was called for traveling when he didn't even more. He did a jab step. I guess he faked the ref too cause he was called for traveling. This was not the only thing. Those refs are horrible compared to NBA refs.

OH and the ticky tack calls are mainly due to the hand checking rule in the NBA which was added to it recently. I agree though. The game should be morephysical in the NBA.

Eh? I thought it was universally recognized that international refs enforce the rulebook much more faithfully than NBA refs do.

don't you hear the announcers complaining in every game about bad calls in Fiba games. I've been watching fiba since the 2004 olympics and the announcers as well as sports journalist always says how there are always calls in fiba that makes you scratch your head. In fact they always suggest that team USA play with real fiba refs during the exhibition games instead of NBA refs (who are refing for fiba for special events such as olympics and the world championships) as well so they would get use to the bad calls early on. Don't you guys hear the announcers always say "Team USA just have to play through the calls"

Remember NBA refs get paid way more. They are trained really really well. The only bad thing about NBA refs is the biased it comes when they are reefing superstars in which there areconspiracies(I think it is happening) about them giving stars players more calls.

Any refs are better than NBA refs and that is not my opinion it is a fact. Refs in the NBA make a 48 minute game into a 3 hour game plus bias to the fullest and rig games.

NBA refs will usually let players get away with a lot. If you want to watch a game that will be have every foul called, you know your traveling calls, double dribbles, shooting fouls, just watch a college basketball game. College refs usually don't let you get away with much. And college refs usually don't bet on games either. Back to USA basketball though, they definately have a shot at winning the gold, though I am not saying they WILL win the gold. They would be better if they had Amare Stoudamire, the center from the Suns. I just don't really like the idea of having one center on the whole team. This team is a shooting team, which could come back to haunt them. I mean, they do have Dwight Howard, which he can pretty much match up against anybody. But, it's always good to have a back-up plan. If Dwight goes down, the whole team goes down.

I dont think they're gonna go undefeated, but it shouldn't be based on their exhibition games. Coach K used those games to figure out line ups and draw up strategies.

I say gold anyways.

I think they're going to win gold despite what has happened the past few years, Jason Kidd has never lost a game and adding a veteran guard Kobe and a great perimeter shooter in michael redd will help get them over that hump

I think it'll be on NBC but I'm not sure. I really couldn't find any listing. But I am watching Australia vs Bulgaria (womens) right now online for free. It looks like all of the events are streamed live online. Heres a link.

Lebron James took over against China, Kobe was right behind him. It's amazing that most people at Lebron's age are just getting into the NBA, but he's already the best player in the world.

I don't know about anyone else, but it warmed my heart to hear the NBA on NBC theme music again. I really hope NBC can get some games again at some point, but it seems TNT and ESPN/ABC have cornered the market...

3 point shooting and free throws is what they really need to work on. I know dwight howard is not a goodfree throwshooter but everyone else has noexcuse. And with the 3 pointer kobe is just shooting bricks. What happened. Last year KobeLebron and Melocould not miss from 3. Why not play Redd more. He's the onlyconsistentshooter. Everyone else are very streaky.

I don't know.. Melo seems pretty consistent to me. He's been shooting pretty well and Lebron isn't doing that bad, but I agree about Kobe.
