The team will be playing in Oklahoma City for the 08-09 NBA season. Our oldest sports franchise ripped away from us, it makes me so angry.

FYI, they won't be the Supersonics. As part of the settlement, the NBA has agreed to leave the name and history in Seattle. At least they had the decency to do that...

So they will be playing there next year, wow that was fast, I thought it might take a couple years.

Such a shame to see the team go away from Seatle now that they just got Durant.

you guys are definitely taking it better than the losers on other sports sites. All they have to say about us oklahomans/oklahoma is all negative.

Why get mad at Oklahoma? They did nothing wrong. It's that jackass Clay Benett we hate.

Very sad, they were a storied franchise, I'd have liked to see them stay put. But hey, at least they're moving to another good basketball city that will support them.

yea its not the Oklahomans' fault, but at the same time you cant help but hope that their team fails and loses support once the honeymoon ends:x

weird how I'm now calling the team I grew up watching, "their team":(

Should do like the cleveland browns did when they moved to baltimore - leave the name and the history so a team could return to seattle and retain its heritage.

Its gonna be mad wierd to watch them. new name and especially new colored jerseys...hopefully when the Nets move to brooklyn they keep the colors and just call them The Brooklyn Nets. I wonder what the jersey will look like cuz having "Brooklyn" on the jersey will make it look like crap

"Bennett said at a news conference in Oklahoma City that the original team banners and 1979 championship trophy will stay in Seattle, but "we will create duplicate banners and championship trophy that we believe will be assets we want to have."

yea, how decent of him:roll:

They should've moved the team to Vancouver, Canada.

1.) We're 2 hours from Seattle.

2.) We have new facilities.

3.) We used to own the Grizzlies.

4.) The owners of the Canucks (who are local Vancouver businessmen) wanted to buy the Sonics to keep all ownership local.

It's a shame that the owner of the Sonics... a genuine_______ would first of all, do this to Seattle, and then move the team to his hometown.

Ridiculous.

They could be called the Thunder - think thats the name that won in the polling which heard on First Take yesterday. Thunder just sounds so AFL though. Another choice in the poll was Cougars or was it Mustangs which would be ok.

Reminds me of Georgia the B**** who moved the Rams to her hometown (St. Louis).
