According to the vid info, the arena had to increase the music volume to drown out some of the booing lol.

Edit: I forgot to add that only she was originally scheduled to drop the puck, but she brought her daughter along and put her in a Flyers sweater hoping that it would decrease the booing lol. That idea clearly failed lol.

Exactly. Philly fans boo anything and everything. I'd bet her politics had very little to do with it.

You've got to think someone at the arena or the team told her what to expect. Heck they had the cheering noise queued up in the PA system there.

What's really sad is that earlier in an interview Palin said she would stop some of the booing by bringing her daughter out with her. That woman is despicable.

Well DUH!

Flyers fans HATE politicians.

She spent all last week in Philly and nobody in this Democratic City can stand her.

If Obama shows up to introduce the 76ers, he'd get a standing oveation - guaranteed.

Philly = Hardcore Democratic City.

Are people actually surprised by this? Philly fans booed Santa Claus, they cheered when Michael Irvin was motionless on the ground, and hell they even boo their own teams and players. This was expected to happen, especially because Philly tends to be a more liberal city. Oh and since when do you have to be Vice President to drop a hockey puck at an NHL game?

Oh I know...why would anyone in Alaska be a Flyers fan anyway? They can sense the b.s. that the 7 year old doesn't own that jersey. She should have dropped the puck in Dallas.

Coming from a San Diego fan, that means less than nothing. What an insignificant sports town. The Pats will probably end your season again, with Cassell this time.

I don't disagree with anything you just said. The joke's on you, though, b/c I'm an LA fan. Did you notice my other favorite teams, smart guy? The Chargers are just a blip on the radar for me while we don't have an NFL team in LA.

The fact that SD is an insignificant sports town still doesn't change the fact that Philly fans are not true fans. Never have been, never will be.

C'mon now, I know that a great majority of Philadelphia fans would never taunt Jurevicious over the death of his son. But because a few drunk idiots stepped out of line then people think every Philadelphia sports fan is like that, and it's not true. Same thing goes for the Michael Irvin incident(And I HATE Michael Irvin, as does all of Philadelphia, but I know that 80% of eagles fans in that stadium weren't cheering when Irivn got hurt that day, just a few drunk idiots that ruin our reputation)

I'm tired of hearing about the booing of Santa. Philly fans talk about it all the time. "Hell yeah, we booed Santa, we're awesome". Shut the hell up, no one cares that you booed someone dressed in a red suit. They make themselves look so ********. They were treating Pat Burrell like crap this year too....boing him even when he was playing excellent. The guy was on a tear for like 2 weeks, but whenever he struck out, the booing would ensue. They couldn't wait to boo him...they wanted him to fail at every at bat. Philly fans are scum, but I have to say that the 76er fans aren't as bad as the Phillies and Eagles.

But what makes it worse it that the Phillies are going to the WS this year most likely. I feel bad for Phillies fans. There is nothing to boo at right now. Maybe Pat will strike out in Game 1 and you Philly "fans" can do what you do best and boooooo boooooooooo booooooooooooooooooo all game long.

GrindingAxe

They can do plenty of booing next week b/c they have no chance against the AL. Yes, I'm a bitter Dodger fan.

EDIT FROM MOD: Please watch what you quote, you are responisble for the quote as well as your text.

Ok. There's constant talk about Philly fans booing Santa Clause, which seems to be the staple for anyone's argument against Phillies fans. He was late, didn't dress correctly and fell off his sleigh. What is supposed to happen to him? I've watched teams like the Yankees and Mets boo their teams off the field this year. Do we ever hear about them booing, or is just because they care, they want to see a winning team. More recently I watched Dodger fans act in the same way, eventually booing at Victorino for asking not to be thrown at his head. How about the Red Sox fans leaving in the 7th inning during a playoff game the other say? No, they are still some of the greatest fans in baseball!

I'm tired of people with their clever little "It's Philly, what do you expect, they boo everything that moves". Before you say that, examine your own ****ing team and see if they care. Everyone wants to win; just because Cardinals fans would rather sit back with their coffees and clap politely as their team collapses doesn't make their fans better. To those unaware, Philly is a pretty damn blue-collar democratic city. What republican politician (who stole the spotlight from the real best hockey mom in America) is going to go into a democratic area and be heralded as a hero?

I'm with Crimzon, we go along with these fan stereotypes and it's just lame, i've gotten on my own fans for being lame before and i was embarrassed. Dodger fans doing stupid crap, Laker rich fans not caring while they blew the biggest lead in Finals history, too busy text messaging.

CrimzonTide- I totally agree with you. all teams are like this all fans are. though this why i dont boo people.

Is beause i know how hard to play. the people who left the red sox game i look at them as a bandwangor fans. though even though they left there was still plenty of people in fenway.
