Even without Billups for the most of the game, Pistons picked apart Nash and the Suns. Their defense is still good as it was last year, but has more offensive power with Webber on the lineup. Now, EVERY piston starter is capable of scoring 20 points on any given night. I say they have the best starting five in the league.
sweet, another pistons fan on here. i do agree, they are going to make it to at least the conference finals; they may be upset...who knows. and its not just the starters who can put up 20; bench players like Lindsay Hunter, Antonio McDyess, that Murray guy, and Carlos Delfino.
I do think that the Pistons have the best chance of winning the East but the Heat are right on their heels even without D-Wade. It doesn't matter too much though because a West team is going to win it all. Not much more to say than that.
They are definitely contenders. I'd say they will win the Eastern Conference this year, or at least have a good chance, but I still think the Western Conference champs will beat them if they do go to the Finals.
I also am from detroit and we will really know tomorrow if the pistons once again have a team capable of winning it all, we took down the second best of the west but can we take down the first. Dallas vs. Detroit tomorrow on ABC. but Pistons without a doubt in my mind have the EAST won unless some team causes a major upset.
Pistons have been balling, can't wait to see them against the Mavs. Webber was a perfect fit for that team, Rip is my favorite pure SG in the league, everyone fills their role so well. Between the Pistons, Cavs, Heat and Raptors, the Eastern Conference playoffs are actually going to be pretty fun to watch next month.
Only thing that's bad about the Mavs v. Pistons game today is that Billups won't dress for the game. I really wanted to see healthy Pistons v. healthy Mavs.
