WOW! The refs in that game were terrible, and threw the game for the Steelers imo. On Pitt's first two point attempt, which they converted, it got called back for an offenseive "holding" on our center who was no where near grabbing onto a Jacksonville jersey. He knocked a Jville lineman down, but with his elbows and not by holdinh him. That would make it 31-31 at the end of regulation, and then the Steelers would've at least had a chance to win in OT.

There were many other calls that went Jville's way in that game that shouldn't of, most of which should be broadcasted on SportsCenter, because the refs lost the Steelers that game!!!

yeah the jaguars payed the referees off so they could beat the steelers on a first playoff game

not only that they waited til the very end of the game to rip the steelers off

not only that there werent any penalties against the jaguars that were in favor of the steelers

I saw a lot of calls on the jags 2. It's kinda like that commercial where the ref is like I made a bad call for this team so ill even it out and make a bad call for the other team in 2nd half. So no. Jags played the better game.

Actually, at the end of the game, Hines Ward clearly grabbed hold of the CB's face mask and defensive pass interference was called on the CB. The Steelers got a TD off of that, but could've been held to 3. The Jags might have got more calls their way, but the refs were bad for both sides.

i understand you are a fan and all but i hate to break it to you, the refs didn't give up a 96 yard kick return to set jacksonville up on the goaline, the refs didn't throw the interception that got returned for a 70 yard touchdown, and last but not least the refs weren't the one that gave up a 30 yard run on 4th down to the qb in the last minute of the game. Once again, it's obvious you are an upset fan but i hate to break it to you, the refs don't lose games, teams do. it's just that simple.

That doesn't even matter though because your not allowed to contact the reciever before he goes at least 5 yards and the J CB did meaning that face masking really didn't even matter.

The refs got screwed and I wouldn't be surprised if we see an apology from the NFL

In the 90s the NFL issued 5 apologies for bad ref calls, four of those apologies were to the Steelers, the refs like screwing the Steelers more then any other team...

How about when Hines Ward was pulling Brian Williams' facemask on 4th down and they called pass interference on Williams.... allowing the Steelers a new set of downs, which they scored a TD on...

Stop, just stop.

I hate fans who make excuses when their team loses.

Believe me, I would much rather (as a Pats fan) face the Steelers than the Jags (with their run,) but just stop making your fanbase look bad.

It is what it is.

There were bad calls both ways. That 4th down play to Hines Ward where they called defensive PI was crap.

See, that's where you're wrong, Jacksonville would have played differently if they were down 31-28, knowing a touchdown would win them the game. After Gerrard's run, they would have gone for the win instead of letting a coin flip decide their fate.

Did you see the play? Brian Williams tried to let go, but Ward kept holding his facemask so they stayed tangled.

Also it's hilarious when fans use refs as excuses. You were leading by 1 and they had 4th down. I guess the refs gave the Jags QB a 40 yard run right?

No, you can hit the receiver before he goes five yards. And the cb couldn't let go because Hines had his face mask. I know you like your team, but blaming the refs is worthless.

I knew some Steeler fans would use bad officiating as an excuse. Bad calls went both ways. The refs didn't call anything against the facemask on Brian Williams. As for me, I'm going to enjoy the fact the Jaguars won against the Steelers for a 4th straight time.

No it has everything to do with this. In your original post your exact words were "the refs lost the game for the steelers". I said it once and i'll say it again, if your team didn't give up a 96 yard kick return to the goaline, if your quarterback didn't throw and INT returned for a 70 yard td, if your team didn't give up a 50 yard td pass to a scat back, and most importantly if your defense didn't give up a 30 yard run on 4th down to the qb in the last minute of the game, all this talk about the refs blowing the game would be pointless. Once again i understand you're a fan and it's always easy to blame the refs but the bottom line is that there are FAR too many plays throughout the course of the game that help to decide the outcome more than the handfull of bad calls that the refs make. I said it once and i'll say it again, teams win or lose games NOT REFS

Man. I hate it when fans do this. Quit your crying and take a look at the game. As said before, the kick return, that interception and quite a few other misteps are what cost the Steelers the game. And I love how you got mad about the holding call but completely ignored the blatant facemask which got your team another chance at the goal line to begin with.

It seemed like near the end of the game more calls went to the Steelers than the Jags. Like Hines Ward completely grabbing a jags players face mask and than the Jags getting called for pass interference.

Sorry to be Johnny Raincloud, but the Steelers lost, and complaining about this won't change a thing. Just hope Mike Tomlin will petition the NFL to have the refs fired like Joe Tiller (Purdue's coach) did.

I don't know how many holding/block in the back plays I saw committed by the Steelers that weren't called. Not to mention the facemask by Hines Ward that was called the other way. Sure, that one call may not have been holding, but it kind of made up for the other plays that weren't penalized. Overall, I thought the refs were going to give the game to Pittsburgh, and yet you're complaining that Jacksonville won because of them. To me, it was like the Jags vs the Steelers/officials for a while.

You are obviously a blind fan. Though I like the steelers, the jags played a better game.. And it would not have ever been 31-31 because the Refs made an even a worse call that resulted in more points for the steelers. I'm talking about when heinz ward committed interference by grabbing the face mask and dragging the defender with him in the end zone. The refs screwed that one up and called pass interference on the Jags. They was a 4th down play so if the refs got it right the steelers should have walked away empty handed. The score was 28-23 at that point and the Jags would have taken over the ball and the steelers would never have takenthe lead. My guess is you are a die hard steeler fan who is in denial. At least some us will admit that the team just got out played and if it wasn't for the bad call we would have never even taken the lead. If you attend Auburn hopefully they teach more critical, unbiased thinking skills. Face it the refs almost made a seasoning ending bad call against the Jags but the Jags overcame it. Congrats to them.

Look, you guys are making your team and fanbase look bad. You think it will be easier for your defeat to say it wasn't the fact you were outplayed it was the refs making bad calls. Being a Seahawks fan, I didn't think the refs made bad calls in Super Bowl XL. The Seahawks just got outplayed. The same thing happened in this game.

Both games had horrible refs. Titans - Chargers, LT did not get a touchdown, that second attempt was BS. Another Titan could have came and hit him and basically broke him in half ending has career but they had him held down half a yard back a whistle blew, then he reached foward and they call it a touchdown. Worst call i have ever seen in my life, it was foward progress after the play ended but the refs felt that even though he was competely held down by at least like 4 or 5 titans he somehow could have still ran into the end zone.

Not true at all. The replay clearly showed that LT reached out over the goal line BEFORE the whistle blew, and while he was falling forward, during his 2nd effort. Clearly a touchdown, and very smart on LT's part.

Wow...... what a load of bull. There were bad calls on the steelers yes.... but on Jacksonville as well, as well as some penalties which wern't called at all. For example early in the game when the CB shoved Hines Ward after he was outta bounds. Sure it prolly wouldnt have done anything but still..... And then Hines Ward grabbing the face mask on 4th and goal. But that wasn't called. It gave them basically 4 more chances for a TD on the 1 yard line.
