In my opinion, rookie of the year will come down to 4 players: Chris Johnson, Matt Ryan, Steve Slaton, and Matt Forte.

Here are their Stats (as of today)

  • Chris Johnson: Rushing - 833 yds, 5 TD; Receiving - 216 yds, 1 TD
  • Matt Ryan: Passing - 2418 yds, 60% cmp, 11 TD, 6 INT
  • Steve Slaton: Rushing - 774 yds, 6 TD; Receiving - 198 yds, 1 TD
  • Matt Forte: Rushing - 909 yds, 6 TD; Receiving - 336 yds, 3 TD

My vote goes to Matt Ryan, who took the Falcons from the bottom of the pack to become a playoff contender, followed by Matt Forte, who has had a dominant year in Chicago

Opinions?

Ryan Clady: LT for the Denver Broncos, hasnt allowed a sack this whole season coupled with only around 3 penalties.

Its going to be Matt Ryan. But isnt it odd how Johnson, Slaton and Forte have quietly put up great numbers. You dont hear 2 words about Forte or Slaton in the national media.

Good point. He deserves the award but it would have been nice if the media let the season actually end before handing him the award already. Those three backs definitely should be getting more credit for such impressive seasons.

Eddie Royal, 58 Rec, 673 yards, 4 TDs. He has helped out offense so much, especially since teams have finally started to really cover Marshall. Not to mention he has greatly helped out special teams with returns.

I think it will be Forte, especially after the week he had last week. He is such a beast in my opinion and is going to be great in years to come.

I would have to go with Matt Ryan on this. I will say Forte just keeps putting up more and more solid numbers but Ryan has really done a fantastic job for the Falcons.
