I was at the game. I'm a Pirates fan to begin with, and I go to roughly 25 games a year anyway, but I'm also a big CC Sabathia fan, so I wanted to go see him. This was the second time this year I've seen him pitch, and I've seen him pitch for two team (I took a quick drive up to Cleveland earlier in the year). I personally think it should have been ruled as an error. Had he fielded it cleanly, the ball definitely would have beaten LaRoche to the bag.

That's ridiculous, the ball went through his hands...give him the no hitter...but in all honesty how many of these get turned?

He grabs it and drops it... and it's a hit? LaRoche is not even half-way when Sabathia gets there...

These guys always make dumb mistakes like that, calling errors into hits. If the ball goes in and out of a glove or hands, then its an error.

Yeah and if any other evidence was needed that it was an error look at C.C's hands there like huge. it's pretty clear to me that he should make that play 99% of the time but i guess that play was the 1% it wasnt. But at the same time C.C you never know what would have happened if he was under the pressure of throwing a no hitter in the late innings.

I love how the Brewers are saying "blip it, we are gonna pitch this guy until his arm falls off" and I love it for once.

Nice performance by C.C

But the Brewers should just move on and keep winning. That's there priority.

Definitely, especially if the Brewers want any kind of shot at resigning him, they'll want to keep C.C.'s creds to a minimum. But the play could have gone either way, it was a tough bare handed move to execute so I could see why they gave Andy Laroche the hit.

Ned Yost was such a baby. You don't get a bonus win for throwing a no-hitter. He's in the middle of a playoff race, and they won. At least CC said "Hey, a win's a win". How can you not have that attitude as a manager?

I honestly think he was more mad for C.C who would have been scrutinized hard by the media if the complained. But when a manager does it it's more okay.

But why? CC pitched a great game. A one hitter is fantastic, and a win is still a win down the stretch, even if it is against the Pirates...It's nice to have a no-no, but it isn't worth all this commotion...

C.C.'s amazing. 9-0 and a 1.sumthin ERA since joining the Brew-Crew. He was destined for Milwaukee.

No it isn't. Rule 10.12 makes it clear that it's only an error if, in the scorer's judgment, the fielder could have handled the ball with ordinary effort. It wasn't a routine play. And an out was far from certain if he had fielded it cleanly. The scorekeeper made the right call.

Scorers judgement = wrong. He had his hands on the ball, if he cleanly picks it up, he had the baserunner. His hands were on the ball and the baserunner was halfway down the line. CC has a great arm and could had thrown him out.

The AP is reporting that MLB's review committee has rejected Milwaukee's protest and decided that the scorekeeper's judgment stands. It's a one-hitter.
