Good luck - you're going to have to move up 5 spots to even have a chance at him - say bye to your 1st and 3rd round picks next year if you want a shot at him, or Schaub and a 2nd round pick, approximately. That's if a team is willing to trade down that far.

Fans seem to act like trading up is just a process of pushing the “trade up” button and blamo you’ve got a good player. In fact you have to give a fair amount up to trade up, you loose those 2nd and 3rd round picks that often can turn out to be great players, and even after that you might not get the player, or you might loose another player the next season and wish you had drafted a few other good guys to fill in :( Trading up can work, but it also can suck far worse than if you’d just gone with the picks you had.

To trade up for a prospect like CJ, who is the best prospect this year, would require a lot. Think your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Hell, he, again, is the best prospect. Hes even labeled as a top WR prospect of all time. Think a future 1st. And a couple of productive players. Say goodbye to jerious norwood and matt schaub. And your getting a WR, the least important position of any offense.

The eli manning trade is a perfect example. Its never a good idea to trade the farm for a unproven player. Just stick at 10. You will get a good player.

They could probably tempt Cleveland with Matt Schaub and a second rounder plus they get to keep their 7th pick

They traded up for him? Ouch. Yeah that's a good example. I don't think trading up is a good idea unless you're as sure as you possibly can be that you can get the player you want and he is going to be great, and really I can't think of many situations where that is the case. Maybe if your team was great all around but missing just one component I could see taking that chance, but even then it is a big roll of the dice.

Depends what they need to trade to get CJ. Most believe CJ is the best player in the draft.

as a fellow broncos fan, here's what needs to go down: the broncos need to sign jamal lewis, who the ravens are probably going to cut, or another quality running back because they are going to have a lot of cap room; then they need to trade plummer and tatum bell to the raiders for the number 1 pick because they need a qb and could also use another hb, so the broncos can draft calvin johnson. that being said, al davis would never make a trade like that with shanahan, but a man can dream can't he?

im a Raider fan too but drafting a WR would be pretty dumb on the Raiders part mostly because they are not in need of a WR and even if CJ makes and impact early in the NFL who the heck would be throwing to him? not aaron Brooks thats for sure. so drafting russell is their best bet

Wait...What?! Garcia in silver and black? I don't know, he is a WO quarterback, not something that the long ball loving Al Davis prefers. Also seeing another niner in those colors feels oh too stange for me. I know Jamarcus Russell's stock has dropped, but I think he has one more chance to prove his stuff at the LSU pro day.

Theres more than 1 top QB at the draft. Davis could still select Russell or Quinn. I could see russell going to the browns or bucs but if he doesnt get selected by oakland he could fall a bit. Same with quinn. It could go either way.

Honestly, since russell came to the combine overweight and sounded lazy in his interviews (supposedly, thats what ive read) you have to question his commitment. The combine is a job interview. Who goes to job interviews unprepared? If you care, you dont. That raises questions, whether they are legitimate or not.

i highly doubt hell go there, hes learned his lesson seeing as how he sucks in every offense exept WCO hes going to the bucs and so is CJ (hopefully) browns better not screw us and trade to minnesota
