Would you call Kobe one of the top-10 best players of all-time or not? I know this has been a hot topic since last night.

Pfft. Let's see him win a title without riding Derek Fisher's coattails. Then and only then will I be impressed.

And then you'll find some other reason to hate him right? First it's he can't win without Shaq. Now it's Fisher even though he was TERRIBLE in the playoffs until the finals. Let's assume they win next year again and Fisher isn't on the team. Who's next? Bynum, Gasol, Odom.......... Jackson??? You have some good picks to choose from.

i think that was prob the case even before this championship. I mean lets throw some names out there.

MJ, Magic, Bird, Big O, Kareem, Russell, Wilt, Shaq. There's 8 that just came to my mind. Even if you put Duncan at #9 since he is, by most accounts, the best and most accomplished PF of all time, that would leave Kobe at 10. Now youcan rearrange those players all you want but you'll be hard pressed to find any other players to crack that top 10. I mean Dr. J, Hakeem, Sir Charles, Malone, Mikan, Gervin, Cousy, Petit, Frazier, West, Havlicek, Stockton, Pippen, Robinson, etc. Those are all great players but is there really anybody in the 10 i listed that you would take out and put one of them in? i know i wouldn't. So in "my opinion" kobe was in there already, this maybe just solitifies it for anyone who was on the fence

Yes, but if you make it top 5 he may not cause with every position available there are so many greats to beat out. Magic, Jordan, Robertson, Abdul-Jabar, Russell or Chamberlin would be hard to beat out.

That's a hard one.

I remember SLAM had a Top 75 back a few years ago, top 10 was :

1.Michael Jordan
2.Wilt Chamberlain
3.Oscar Robertson
4.Bill Russell
5.Magic Johnson
6.Larry Bird
7.Kareem-Abdul Jabbar
8.Jerry West
9.Shaquille O'Neal
10.Julius Erving

I don't necessarily agree with that list, honestly, but, for the fun of it, is Kobe better than anyone on that list?

I say yes.

11 all nba teams

9 all nba defensive teams

81 points

a mvp

4 rings

3 all star mvps, 13 all star selections

On pace to breakt he scoring record.

and he is only 30.

Really Im not gonna take anyone serios who says he is not, mostdominant guard this league has ever seen right with Jordan.

I think Kobe's getting up there in the list of the greatest of all time, but that top ten list is pretty stacked and it's hard to see who he would replace on that list. But right now I think he's the best in the game currently.

Joke post? Lets see Jordan win one without riding Kurr.....Pippen.........Rodman, Insert name here's coattails.

POSITION is what i always say, obviously you can't compare him to Bill Russell. Guards, is Kobe in the top 10? Top 5? Top 3? Yes he is IMO.

I guess it depends on who you ask. I would say Bryant is better than West and Baylor and only behind Jordan.

I'd say the same. I remember Chuck about 3 years ago said Dumars was better than Kobe.

Shaq's basically admitting he was wrong, which is really the only thing he could've done. If he said something like "DAMN I wish Kobe didn't get another ring" the media would be killing him for being a bad sport.

Defensively, it's arguable that Dumars is better than Kobe. But offensively, there's no argument who's better. And I agree with what everyone's saying, and should be said...Kobe is the second best SG of all-time right behind Jordan.

I would have to agree that he cracks the top 10 for sure and he would be #2 behind MJ at the SG position. Now, how high he is on the top 10 list is debatable but I think he's there for sure.

Right now, I think he's in the top 20 and not the top 10. The top 10 list is extremely hard to get into, by the end of his career he'll be in there for sure if he keeps going. He isn't even close to MJ's level though(back in his prime).

Kobe was practically thrown on a Memphis Grizzlies team a few years back, he transformed this team into what they are today. Regarding to TC's question, Kobe is definitely in top ten in my book.

I'm not sure. Even if he did make my top ten list, he'd probably be on the bottom half.
