So, do the Colts rest their starters? or play all the way?

With their win over the broncos the colts have already clinched the number 1 seed in the AFC...that's impressive

so now what?

many coaches would rest their players in such meaningless games...but with three games left, AND a first week bye...that'd be FOUR WEEKS off, and i'm sorry, but a month off is way too long for football players to just come back and play how they were before they started resting

now obviously you rest the injured, no need in getting them anymore injured, but you play the healthy IMO....manning needs to keep his rhythm

last time the colts were the number 1 seed they lost in their first playoff game. They rested in two straight games plus the bye...so that's three weeks, this year it's one extra week. In that game against the steelers they were just off sync and looked nothing like that team that went 13-0 and finished 14-2

so i say play all the starters that are 90-100% healthy...ESPECIALLY manning

i would love to see the colts go 16-0...but most importantly, i would hate to see them lose their stride they got going right now

yea, at least the first half...hmm, or maybe the second half? see how the backups do?

lol, idk...i just really don't wanna see them rest the entire game for that many games

2 quarters is probably all they need to take out the bills and jets...not so sure about the jags though

I think the starters will play most, if not all, of the game against the Jaguars. It's a short week, so they wouldn't have a lot of time to get the backups up to speed. As for the Jets and the Bills, I think it will depend on the outcome of the Jaguars game. If the Colts win on the Thursday and move to 14-0, I think it will be difficult for them to sit their starters being so close. That carrot dangling in front of their faces will be too tempting, I think. I want them to go for it.

Play them.

Here's my own personal rule:

If you already won a Championship with basically the same team in the past 3 years or less, then winning another Superbowl isn't as impressive IMO. They have a Superbowl Trophy in the bank already, so they can afford to go for perfection and risk injuries. They have nothing to prove to anyone. Same deal with the Patriots back in 2007 - they already had 3 Superbowls in the bank; having a chance to go undefeated would be more impressive then just another trohpy in the case.

The Saints, however, may NEVER get back here again. THEY should rest their players IMO. They don't have a trophy sitting in their display case - so they need to make sure they are fully rested and healthy for a Superbowl run.

I can't list the last 5 Superbowl winners without checking Wikipedia... but I know who the 72 Dolphins are.

Why settle for being the best of the year, when you have a shot at being the best of all time?

They should go for perfection, its an extremely rare opportunity and you have to go for it once you have it.

This. Jags really need a win after that rough last week. Hopefully they'll come out with a little more on offense against the Colts. We normally play them tough regardless.

They should go for it, Who knows when the Colts will ever be undefeated again?

Saints, they should rest they never won a Super Bowl or ever been 13-0 since this year.

Play their starters as long as they're healthy. If anybody has nagging injuries but would've played in a competitive game, then let him rest.
