Boston and the Yankees are all the same to me now, big spending clubs looking to buy a World Series ;)

Anyway it is in the Twins best interest to keep the Yankees thinking Boston is going to pickup Santana and Boston thinking the Yankees are going to pick up Santana. How interested each side really is ... I've no clue.

So true. Even my Mets have tried that a bit too, unsuccessfully so far.

But anyhow, Twins should keep him till July, then get even more with more suiters.

I love how everyone calls them the underdogs. The second richest club in all of baseball couldn't win a WS for 86 years, more like pathetic.

As for the trade, I hope he goes to NY, Boston would be STACKED if he goes there.

Why would you rather keep "potentially the next Clemens" when you could have the guy who's already established himself as the next Koufax?

Hmmm... maybe great versus great... what is there to ponder?

You arent, if, youwant the Red Sox to get Santana.Need I point out why? For one thing, you seriously think Hughes can equal Clemens, for another thing you seem to think money should be of any concern to the Yankees, of all teams. What a joke. lmfao at you thinking nub is insulting.

1. if you get insulted by nub in the first place its just pathetic.

2.Hughes has the potential to be a clemems "POTENTIAL" google it.Also he isalways #1 on the prospect list for liek the past 3 years.

3.Money may not be a factor for the yankees but for a pitcher asking for 7 years only a craced up Brian Cashman would do that deal.

4. I dont want the Sox to get Santana but i would rather have htem get him over the yankees trading away hughes/melky

Okay I see. You'd rather keep a guy with potential, who could very well be a bust, and give last year's world series winner who just happen to beyour divisional and mosthated rival arguably the best pitcher in the game today for the next 7 years. It all makes sense now.

So you and your fellow taxpayers can afford a brand new $522 million stadium, but Carl Pohlad and his net worth of $2.6 billion (according to Forbes) can't afford keeping the best pitcher in baseball?

EDIT: in response to your last comment, I'd hardly call Mauer, Morneau, Cuddyer, Young, Neshek, Nathan, Bonser, or Liriano "mediocre".

Some teams lose money, you don't invert in business to go red.
