Spurs have traded Brent Barry and Francisco Elson for Kurt Thomas. Probably in response to the Suns getting Shaq.

It's to make sure they have the body in the playoffs that can give help and hit jumpers in case Horry doesn't snap into his "All I do is win championships" mode.

I dont like the trade they do get some benefit from it. Barry is a really good shooter to have around duncan and elson is a decent big body but yeah thomas is better. Spurs should of kept the rights to scola. I dont think it is that big of a deal but we will see if it changes anything.

Thomas will help the Spurs, and he'll look great next to Duncan. Didn't have to give up much at all. The rich get richer..

Also sent Seattle a 2009 pick. Heard the Spurs were about to make a deal with the Kings for Ron Artest, but the Kings backed out.

Great trade by the Spurs once again. KT will help Duncan a lot down low. And he's an expiring, too.

Too bad for the spurs. That would have solved the aging bruce bowen issue.

EXCELLENT trade. Elson was doing almost nothing. And Barry was very streaky with his 3 point shot. He also would force his offense whenever he got on the floor. Now they have someone to help with Shaq and the Laker bigs. But remember, this is not necessarily in repsonse to the Shaq trade....they've tried to get Thomas before with no results. It's just that now is the best time with the West getting bigger.
