He wants to start a World vs. America bashing thread? Why the **** would you even bother to make this comparison?

The world cup is so much better than the Super Bowl-Halftime-This. Multiplied by gazillions. I actually love the NFL, but the World Cup is like the utmost sporting-orgasm-event. Then you have things like the IAAF World Championships and Summer Olympics and stuff like that. Sometimes I wonder "WHY was I born in Canada where CURLING gets more primetime TV than real sports like soccer and athletics!!!"
Winter Olympic Hockey > World Cup.
The World Cup without flopping would make it watchable, but I hate watching grown men flop around for a penalty.
Winter Olympic Hockey > World Cup.monkeytoes61SEE?? That's how people here in Canada think. My head will explode. I'm not actually mad, I'm just completely bamboozled by the fact that every single sport I love has no freaking coverage in Canada. That's a bit of an exageration since Basketball is my favorite sport and I can actually watch 10 games per week on average. But here nobody gives a flyin' poop about other sports I LOVE like soccer, tennis and mainly athletics (track & field, whatever you wanna call it).
World Cup > Super Bowl.
More of the world watches the World Cup, its every 4 years, and has a longer history. Super Bowl is the peak of North American sports if you ask me. (7 games to decide a winner? no thanks).
I love to watch futbul with a ball kicked around an enormous field for a couple hours with almost no scoring as much as the next guy, but I'd rather watch American football.
The culmination of the greatest sports tournament on the planet vs double-elimination, agregate scoring, and ties? Please.TheGrat1
This.
I will just list some world powers and what's the most watched sport in here
U.S. (1st in economics, also 1st in cultural influence): NFL
Canada (2nd in land size): Hockey
China (1st in population and 2nd in economics): Many sports, but definately not soccer
Japan (3rd in economics): Baseball
India (2nd in population): Cricket
Australia (6th in land size): Ruby
Russia (1st in land size): soccer, I assume
Brazil (5th in land zie): soccer
Dont you guys see world cup's problem is? it lacks of worldmajor powers' support, thats why world cup looks quite rubbish...no instant review, no half time show, no fancy commerical, no real competition (nothing is more fun when it involves with political hatres between 2 big countries), and too little drama in it.
You cant find U.S. vs. China, China vs. Japan, India vs. Pakistan, Russia vs. U.S. in world cup...
seriously, who knows where is senegal? Ghana? Cameroon? and some small EU countries...
I think once every four years is more exciting, imo so World Cup > SB. I think I like Korea's national sport the most though.
Don't forget Ties. X Games/Winter X Games/Motorcycle racing/Boxing PPV that's actually good/MMA/Curling/Competitive Gaming/College baseball/Minor League Baseball/Billiards/World Series of Poker/LA Galaxy/>>>>>>> World Cup. But i did enjoy that Euro cup a few years ago, the only soccer game i have ever sat all the way through where Spain won.Winter Olympic Hockey > World Cup.

7 games? I don't see why you'd exclude all of the regular season. Super Bowl is much more exciting than the World Cup (which I love to watch), but the WC makes much more money.World Cup > Super Bowl.

I second that. Soccer itself is an interesting game with potential, but there are SO many stupid rules. Any game where the refs arbitrarily decide how much extra time should be put back on the clock is stupid. They don't even follow it to the letter, they will wait for 15-20 seconds after the alloted stoppage time. It's stupid.Canada as a world power lol. What about: Germany, England, France, Spain, Italy? You can find politically charged games in every world cupI will just list some world powers and what's the most watched sport in here

No not really, they don't want excessive violence esp. for a defenseless WR or QB, i don't see what's stupid about not wanting someone to get killed on the field.X360PS3AMD05I agree with the helmet to helmet hits but the rules regarding QB's are horrible and that's not the only thing. Late hits are ****Ing stupid in the NFL and what constitutes unnecessary roughness is horrible too. Let's also add that Goodell puts on a front that he wants to protect people and then lobbies for 18 games:lol: Then again, when your league is run by a labia like Goodell, these things happen

Italy and Spain makes me lol, google Europe + PIGS + Italy, you will see why.
what would you want to choose? food and energy or luxury goods and transportation without gas?
of course food and energy are much more impotrant cuz they are necessity to human life.
Canada is world #1, U.S.' biggest trading partner and also biggest oil supplier. Who has more influence? The countries you mentioned cant even supply themslves food and energy without import from aboard. Thanks to China and India, food and energy industry are pretty much seller's market now.
It's actually a fair question which makes more money. American's usually spend more money watching movies then the rest of the world combined.World Cup is a global sport with probably a billion fans vs NFL which is only popular in the US. What do you think?
