This sport is so much harder than baseball, basketball, and football anyway.  You only have yourself to rely on except yourself, and even in doubles, you are clearly responsible for your area.  And this game is WAAAAY more mental than physical.  It's not like basketball near the end of the game if you a large enough lead, and hope to just milk the clock.  No, in tennis, your opponent can gain momentum easily.  I was playing yesterday, down 4-7, and ended winning 10-7.  I could tell that i had the game when i saw that my opponent was just soo frusterated with himself and started making sloppy shots.  Your own mind can be your worst enemy.

I think that tennis isn't played nearly as much as other popular sports is because it's too difficult and hard for them.

I've been playing tennis since I was 4. I love playing tennis, but I think Basketball is a much tougher sport than tennis. What I like about tennis is that you're on your own and you don't have to depend on anyone else.

I'm underrated, but when I get to college, play some ball, and go to some leagues... I'll come back home and laugh at all the nay sayers in their punk ass faces

It's fun to play, but there's a reason it isn't that popular -- it just isn't that exciting to watch.

You're right. No one's worthy enough for tennis.

I appreciate the sport, but why cry about how underrated it is and how much "better" it is than everything?

I think Tennis is really boring to watch, but amazingly fun to play :D

And imo football is pretty hard to play.

It's fun to play and great exercise but as a spectator sport Tennis is kind of elitist, and that usually turns me off to it. I've been to the US Open a few times and while I enjoy it and have a good time while I'm there, I feel much more comfortable at a Hockey or Baseball game than at Flushing Meadows. It's just not something I could get into/follow every day.

I never said it was "better," because that is subjective.  I'm saying that it's underated and that many people don't play it because it's too hard.

Well, i would say that's because Tennis doesn't have nearly as much of a following as those other sports.  You could say that the "casuals" are going to play football, basketball, or baseball, or even soccer because many other people play those sports.  So guess only a select few type of people would be interested enough to see it live.  I've never seen a live pro tennis match, but i've been to 6 baseball games.
