There I said it. They are having a great offseason so far. Good free agent pick ups like Nate Clement and their draft has started on a high note with Willis. They have 7 more picks in the first 4 rounds (most in the NFL). They swept Seattle last year. Also there are rumors that they will trade one of their 4 4th round picks for Darrel Jackson of seattle.

Go Niners !!!

I agree 100%! They should have won it last year but were just a bit too inexperienced as well as missing a couple of key players (TE for one!!!) due to injury. I really like their first pick and with all the picks they have left they can bolster their team easy! I just hope they can find a solid WR in the draft even if Jackson comes over from Seattle (which would rock because he is a very good WR). The whole NFC West is actually looking solid this year! They must have been tired being in the cellar the last few years! I can't wait for football!

Umm no they won't win the division next year but they will make the playoffs.  Seattle will return to there old form this year everyones back from injury and they have a lot of solid players at each position.  Also don't forget the Rams and Cardinals are probably going to be better then last year.

I know the division will be much improved but the Niners were a very young team last year and they still did pretty well. If they pick up Jackson from Seattle that will be a big help and if they can grab another good WR in the draft they should be able to beat Seattle and take the division fairly easily. I do think they will make the playoffs for sure though even if they didn't win the division. We'll have to see but I like their chances a lot this year especially with Frank Gore in the backfield.

I think the 49ers will be a lot of fun to watch in 2007. If they happen to win the NFC West as well, that will only be a bonus. :)

The Niners, probably will take the division this year, they're one of the most talented young teams in the league, so let's hope they keep up the progression.

I doubt 49ers will win the division, but it's a possiblity. It depends on a multitude of things. They got a great young line exception of one player, Larry Allan, and they addressed that with a great value pick in Joe Staley after a trade with Pats. There also have to be improvements in Alex Smith and 49ers will also have to keep Vernon Wells healthy throughout the season. They also got Jason Hill who shouldn't start, but should develop as a solid reciever. It also depends on Patrick Willis whether he can help the 49ers make that 3-4 transition. Finally, it depends on how much Rams and Cardinals will improve. Cardinals got two great picks the first day of the draft, but O-line and the defense is still a issue. I still think Rams will win the division, but both Cards and 49ers have chance.

I think the Cards are a improved team but that o-line is garbage so they have no shot.  I don't think the 49ers will be getting a free ride here its going to be a challenge for them for sure which is why I wouldn't be suprised if they dont win the division or even make it to the playoffs.  There still a young team and I do respect Mike Nolan hes done a great job and they have a bright future ahead of them.

The Niners have a great shot to win the NFC West this year, if Alex Smith can continue to improve and the defense plays better they have a legitimate shot to be the conference champs.  Remember, this is a team that last year beat the Seahawks twice, if they can avoid losing to teams like the Cardinals twice they can be a good team next year.

I think the 49ers will win the NFC east too they are a team on the rise with a lot of young players who can make a impact. The loss of Norv Turner will hurt but not bleed. the signing of Nate Clements was big, as well as the drafting of Patrick Willis. Alex Smith will have another year to grow will be succesful, If Frank Gore stays healthy expect another pro bowl act next year he is a great young player that will lead the offensive load for the 49ers. Now that Vernon Davis is healthy he will make spectacular plays and create a great option for Alex Smith. The offensive line is getting better and the defense is replenishing with new and young talent. Expect them to be a elite team in a couple of years.

It will be interesting to see because all four teams have a legit chance of winning the division. It's wild to actually think that the NFC West will be tough this year!!! It's been awhile since that has been said for sure... If they can keep Wells healthy I think Alex Smith will be fine because he did a good job with very little to work with last year. Plus, Jackson was the Seahawks #1 WR and can make big plays. This will be a fun division to watch!

What I love is the fact that not a lot of people realize that Frank Gore kept two very good RB's on the bench at Miami! Clinton Portis and Willis McGahee were on the bench because of this guy! It's no surprise that he had such a breakout season and if he can do it again the Niners will be riding high because their passing attack should be much improved! I can't wait!

They have better chance than in the past few years but there's a lot of egg counting going on there with your draft picks.  You know what they say about counting eggs before they hatch, don't.

I have to agree I mean this is still a very young team and I'm not sold on Alex Smith quite yet.  I believe Frank Gore will definetly carry this team far but the division title is going to be a reach for them as it is for any team.

very possible, but that doesn't mean theyre gonna do anything.

the niners have simply yet to prove they are better than any other team.  one season they could only beat one team (the cards), and then ppl said "theyll have a winning season."  my bro, a huge 49er fan, sits there and tells me theyre better than alot of teams out there, including the packers. well, needless to say the packers, who were still in mild disarray last year, beat the hell outta the 49ers. now again theyre talking big.  just cuz u make the playoffs, doesn't make you a playoff calibur team.  expect them to give someone way too much confidence (probly the bears) in the first round.

Its not only Alex Smith but Nate Clements I mean the Buffalo Bills had him with other great defensive players and they still stunk so I think everyone puts them over the top because of guys like Nate Clements but doesn't.  Like I said before this team is loaded with young talent and I'm interested to see what happens with them.

They are still a year or two off. I still think they need a playmaking wideout. Jackson is not the answer, he's definitely an upgrade, but he drops a lot of balls and is injury prone. Did they ever resign Antonio Bryant? The NFC is terrible, but if they get in they have a shot to go all the way to the Super Bowl and get busted up by Brady to Moss.

First of all how come some of you keep calling Veron Davis Vernon Wells his last name is Davis. Also they will definatly win their division i mean that cards have 2 major WR and a great Rb and Young QB but they always suck. The Rams are they same they got a great QB RB and 2 WR and they aren't very good eaither. The seahawks were beaten by the 49ers both times last year and now we have even more great players we will definatly be able to handle them. One more thing how do you get pictures ands tuff under ur messages you right.

Ok, lets not go overboard with the prediction. I like the 49ers and they certainly are capable of winning that division, but reaching the NFC Chamionship as well? I don't think so...:|

I called niners at 7-9 last year, winning NFC west this year, deep into playoffs in '08 and super bowl bound in '09 !

Its Vernon Davis, not wells. Vernon Wells is a baseball player

The Niners did have a great rest of the draft (like I said they would :P)

GO NINERS !!!

The Saint's offense is so much better than the 49ers is. Not only that, but Alex Smith will have to learn from NEW offensive coordinator for the 4th straight year.

I like Gore and I would like to see his team win that division, but reach the NFC Championship too? Not this year dude...

There are major differences this time. One, Smith is not learning a new offense but the same one that Norv taught, so this time around he's not starting from scratch. Also if he can show the same rate of improvement as from last year, he'll be lighting it up teams' secondaries. Another difference is that this is the first year that Gore has not been injured coming into the offseason, and so he does not have to waste his time going through a recovery period. Basically what this means is that he has a chance to work out on his breakdown speed, and so hopefully will be able to get a lot more tds. With a better Smith, a better Gore, better WRs, and a drastically improved defense, I don't see any reason why the niners can't go deep into the post season.

Im a huge 49ers fan but i dont think we win the division. Seattle is king until someone dethrones them. But the 49ers did add a lot of pieces through the draft and Free Agency, so it will be exciting to see it all play out. Im predicting 9-7 and a wild card.

The ONLY reason I hope the 49ers don't have a good season is simply just because we get there number 1 pick next year but I don't hate them like i do the Colts or Broncos.

They have 7 more picks in the first 4 rounds (most in the NFL). They swept Seattle last year. Also there are rumors that they will trade one of their 4 4th round picks for Darrel Jackson of seattle.

hope 49ers repeat last year's season.

I want the Cards to win the division and go deep in the playoffs, but I also want Vernon Davis to make the Pro Bowl and break some TE records in San Francisco.

[QUOTE="Rhazakna"]Pats get the Niners first pick next year right? Go 49ers!dkhw

Yea I know I can't wait to see Revis get burned by Stallworth all season long to its gonna be great! ;)

I can't wait either. Jets will also get burned by slot recievers like kelly washington and wes walker all day.

hope 49ers repeat last year's season.

Too bad Stallworth will be on the sidelines watching the game because he tore his hamstring to shreds sometime before week 3.

Too bad people can't predict injuries or give the exact week its gonna happen.  It also too bad the "Jests" will just be another 10-6 team and be one and done in the playoffs... believe me I don't have to predict it you should already know it.
