Since we won the Stanley Cup last year this will be easier to get over, but I really wanted to see if we would repeat. We looked good at times this year, but we went through strecthes where we couldn't score any goals.Just a unlucky season filled with inconsistent play and injuries.

This will be the first time in NHL history that neither competitor in the previous year's finals make it to the playoffs. Parody is the new norm in hockey. And I think it's a good thing. It's just too bad that the Blues and Leafs suck, though...

I think Parody is great for any sport, I just wish Carolina wasn't the team to fall victim to it, though.

I just realized, I used the wrong word. It's parity (the opposite of disparity), not parody. Think about it. But the thing about stastical parity such as the NHL's is that the mighty fall quickly and the weak rise just as quickly.

There's amazing parity in the NHL this year.  I still can't believe there still aren't any guaranteed playoff matchups yet lol.  Personally, I'm kind of glad that the Canes aren't making the playoffs this year.  It's nothing personal, it's just guaranteed that they won't repeat as Stanley Cup champs.  I don't like teams hoisting the cup two years in a row, unless it's the Sharks lol.  Best of luck next year. =D

It was a mistake going with Cam Ward as a full-time starter, he's too young.

Its the Conn Smythe curse, look at what happened to guys like Giguere and Richards after they won it. Besides, who else is there? You can't seriously think John Grahame is going to help out? I feel sorry for Cane's fans, that team looks like it is going downhill. I mean, the team is pretty much in need of rebuilding and they trade away Jack Johnson? In a year or two all that team will have is Staal, Ward and a couple of other guys.

Not neciserily.( I cant spell today) I think its great cause you just cant throw any old retired hockey player as a GM.  Teams with good systems and strategies with a smart GM will prevail. The good thing about it is that any team could have it.  Its like which army has the best generals to put soldiers in certain situations.

I cant believe they got Graham as a backup. they should have learned from the Lightning last year. Hes a bonafide minor league goalie.
